Hair 911

Photobucket

HELP! My hair is out of control! I have not had it cut (or trimmed) since late February and my hair is starting to come to points at the ends. And the bangs, yuck! I need to have them sheered out or something. I also have not had a professional dye job in years! However, I did box color it myself in February. At this point I feel like there are copper colors pulling through and it's darker at some points and lighter at others. This is not on purpose people. And to top it all off I found 3 grey hairs last week!!!! I'm good with fine lines and wrinkles, but grey hair, oh hell no! Not at 31!
Well enough is enough! I have a hair cut and color appointment this Friday!

Okay, so what should I do? I don't want bangs again. It's not realistic that I will make it to the salon every 2 weeks for bang trims, and I really want to grow them out for another year or so.
Layers? Middle part? Side swept long bang? Darker? Highlights? Low lights? What the heck should I do?
Let's be clear. I will NEVER go shorter then a few inches off so don't tell me a bob! ;) Thanks for the help!

No middle part! I feel like middle parts just scream, "I'm too boring to even part my hair anything other then directly down the middle of my head"...when I see when I feel compelled to fix it....but I digress. I think you'd look cute with some side swept bangs, however those could get frustrating chasing two little ones around! Good luck!

Oh you poor poor girl! I have "hellish hair" and have no idea what to do with mine so I am at a loss for suggestions for ya. But what I DO KNOW is that you look beautiful no matter what you do with your hair. And I am SHOCKED to learn that you've not had a trim or dye since Feb...I would have NEVER guessed it has been that long. Your hair always looks so beautiful in your blog pics! ;) So, good luck Friday! ENJOY yourself and relax! It will be so good for you to have a "salon day" right before the Princess arrives!!! Cant wait to see pics of the new do!!! :)

My ends are a mess, too. Your bangs are pretty long, so I am thinking that a good stylist would be able to blend them into layers until everything reaches the same length...

Also! My mom tells me you found me through a friend of hers or something? I knew exactly who she was talking about when she said, "Lisa". :)

That's what I was thinking!

and, YES! My sister-in-law reads you blog daily and told me it was super cute and funny and I should check it out! So I did!
I think she works with her!

Oh I feel your pain!! My hair is long and the bangs are grown out and the ends get all tangled! I won't go short either! I am going today for a haircut and I am so excited! I don't want bangs again, so I might do the side sweep bang. You know what I mean? And take a couple of inches off the back. More 2-3 layers instead of multiple layers. It just needs cleaned up! It's awful! I do a side part! So, that's what I am doing! Side sweep bangs are easy to maintain and don't need cut!! Hopefully I was ale to give you some ideas!!

i think a sideswept bang looks killer on you. and i'm a big fan of chunky layers right now. they cut down on blow-dryer time and also look good if you just let your hair air dry, so they're low-maintenance for new mommy time. and i love your hair dark!

Long layers and bangs side swept. And you are still gorgeous, split ends and all!

I'm in the same boat. I haven't made an appointment, because I have no idea what to do with it. Mine's naturally curly too, which seems to limit things. You have beautiful glossy locks though dear!
