It has been brought to my attention....

I was tagged in a tweet yesterday (on twitter) that said the following:

Nothing like someone BLATENLY copying your blog and twitter handle. Don't blog if you can't come up with your own name @stilettosdiaper

Yikes! So I click through to her page and see that her Twitter name is stilettodiapers. Yes, that's very close to mine! Since you are only allowed 15 characters in your header name on Twitter, I had slimmed mine down to stilettosdiaper. It told me the name was not in use, so I used it!
Turns out she has a blog too and hers is called Stilettos and Diapers: Because Changing Diapers While Wearing Stilettos is Sometimes Hilarious. And she started her blog in 2009. I began mine in January of 2010.

I wrote back telling her I had not copied and it was an honest mistake and she tells me to change my twitter name and think about changing my blog title! She also claims I copied her design and blog concept as well!

I have changed my twitter name. It is now @SADBblog . All new links are now up and if you were following me before on there then you still are. I did it because I don't want to have the same title as anyone. I agree! But I'm keeping my blog name. It's mine sweetie!
My husband actually named my blog, and I still say that it's quite brilliant. It describes me and my lifestyle!

Before yesterday, I had never seen, heard of, or heard from anyone that there was another blog out there with a similar name. I can see why she's upset, I'm bummed too, but lets get real.
We are both moms, and we both like heels. Can you imagine 2 people in the world existing with that in common!?! ;)
Come on! There are a million fashions blogs out there that list what they wear. There are a million blogs out there that are written about their mommy experiences. And I'm sure there are a million blogs out there that encompass both ends of this! You can't claim that you made this concept up!

I stand by my blog. I did nothing wrong. All of my experiences are real and mine! All of my mommy stories happened to me and they are mine to share! I did not copy her ANYTHING! I hired the very talented Fabulous K Creative to design my blog, and I love what design she came up with.
Just wanted you guys to know. It was bothering me that I was accused, and I wanted to clear the air!

I so hate when women treat other women so mean. We are not in high school. It was an honest mistake, no harm done. Consider the air cleared. I enjoy your blog, dont change a thing!

O M G!!!!! Ok, I am going to just say....F HER! How IMMATURE and petty can she be? She could have just simply messaged YOU personally and realized it was NOT intentional! Instead she has to act like a teenager and post something like that on Twitter? Grow up! DONT change anything on your blog Lisa! The name AND design are totally YOU and she can get over it. Its not a business and you are stealing clients for crying out loud! SHEESH! Keep on blogging Lisa...we ALL look forward to them! And I see you are past the 100 followers mark so CONGRATS!!!!!! :)

I love your blog just the way it is! I love the name and the concept. I also love how you handled this situation and took the high road by simply changing your twitter. No unnecessary messages were needed in this case. I am going through the same thing right now, not with my blog but trust me I know how you feel. Keep doing what you do, like you said these stories are completely your own. Now I'm on to follow your new twitter name.

OMG!!! I am just reading this and I can not believe that someone said that to you!!!! What nerve!!! Good for you for standing up for yourself and not backing down!!!! Woo hoo!!! I understand changing your Twitter name, but keep your blog just the way that it is!! I love it!!! Was this a personal message she sent you? If not, that is so not cool!!! I say don't worry about it!! Girls can sometimes play mean. And that is just sad on their part!!
Xo!

Ughh..I was so mad when you said her followers were sending you hate tweets. I actually had been following both of your blogs for sometime and never thought the issue was big enough to menion that the other was out there. Just wasn't that serious. I was so tempted to send her a nasty tweet but took the high road. I don't want anybody messing with my blog buddies!!!

Wow, how childish can you be? She's totally acting like her 3 year old.
Don't you dare change your blog name! I think it's fabulous, and personally I think yours is way more entertaining than hers!

WOW...what a bully! How old are we??? I was curious and went over to her blog and even though I do see some similarities both blogs have a very different feel. For her to be such a pretty girl she sure showed her true colors...sad. Instead of her reaching out and making a friend who obviously has some things in common with her, she turned it into something negative.
Stay true to yourself and don't worry about what others think...I love your blog just the way it is!

Very unclassy of her to just come at you like that without even talking to you first. I agree with your position and totally support you!!

She just jealous that your blog name makes sense because you're a fashionable mom, while her blog name makes her sound like a sexy elderly woman. Her blog subtitle should be "Wearing those diapers around the retirement home with class." :)

Keep up the good work Lisa!

That sucks that we all can't be supportive of each other. I've always liked your blog concept and think its unique. Keep it up girl!

sounds like it was a completely innocent mistake! With so many blogs - how can you be sure you're not dangerously close to another? I am sure there are other blogs with names close to mine - but ya get over it! ANyways - keep it up:) Don't let her get you down.

It sounds like you handled this ridiculous situation so much better than she did! I agree with everyone else - your blog is great so keep doing what you're doing! I'm not even a mom yet and I'm always interested in your posts! Forget about the rude, drama-loving people.

Copyright your blog name and then her twitter handle and blog name will be in violation, and she will be the one who can no longer use it...

Here's a link thru the library of congress:
http://www.copyright.gov/

It's not always about who is using it first, but who files for legal use first. =)

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH Lis, this just made me mad. Grow the F up, little girl! You're not that important, the world isn't trying to copy you. I officially do not like this silly lady.

I stumbled on your blog today the first time and even though I'm 22 and have no kids I spent a little time reading a little.

I went over to her blog.

I like yours better. Your layout is wider, looks more sophisticated and generally everything just looks a bit more "expensive" over here.

I think you should copyright this blogname :).
