Birthday Week-Part 3/ "I GOT what she has!"

My husband got me a pair of 1969 Gap jeans for my B-day. They are great jeans! It took about 30 minutes to find them, but in the end, I found the perfect pair for my body. The 1969 brand comes in many different fits, colors, lengths, and styles so make sure you have some time if you plan on finding your perfect pair! They are already my go to jeans when I'm not wearing all the leggings I own! :)

A normal day around the house

Top: Express
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Bakers
Bracelet-?-swap from Lindsay

Okay, so I threw some shoes on for the pic! BUSTED!
This is what I wore on a regular day at home. I love this button up shirt from Express. It leaves lots of moving room and when you spending your day folding laundry and crawling around looking for missing toys, it's just what the doctor ordered. I paired it with a pair of dark denim jeans and this great thick silver bracelet I borrowed from Lindsay. I am having lots of fun with the closet swapping as you can see! ;)

Birthday Week-Part 2

I wanted this motorcycle style white jean jacket from Victoria's Secret so badly! (If you click on the blog title it will take you right to the page where you can buy your own.) The gold zippers and buttons give it great detail that won't go unnoticed!
If you are a Victoria's Secret card holder, they send you a $20 gift card for you B-day. With a deal like that how could I let my husband pass this gift up?! I can not wait for spring so I can wear this all the time. Not sure if the picture does it justice, it definitely looks amazing on!

Birthday Week-Part 1

This year I got some great loot for my Birthday! This was a gift from my sister-in-law and I'm obsessed with it! She found it at Sephora. It's a Stila makeup case that has speakers on the front of it. It also came with the makeup needed for a natural look. The coolest part is that you can simply plug in your IPhone/ITouch/MP3 player and rock out to your favorite tunes as you get ready! How cool is that?! I can now get ready in any room I want and have more fun doing it then ever before! Getting ready has never looked or sounded so good!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Abbey Kenny. She came over to my house rocking these with a pair of pencil dark jeans, a stripped cardigan, and a v-neck top.

Shoes: $148 or $98 Ann Taylor

She couldn't remember how much they were because she had purchased them some time ago. Sadly that means we all must applaud her find because we can no longer buy them for ourselves! ;)

I GOT what she has!

My girlfriend Abbey gave me my very own Coach wristlet for a birthday gift! I love the purple! Right now it has my lip glosses, perfume, and comb in it and I have placed it in my purse for everyday use. The great part is that I can always throw an ID and camera in it and wear it for a night on the town by itself. Thank you Abbey!!

My husband's Birthday

Dress: H&M -borrowed from Kaitlyn
Tights: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Shoe dazzle
Necklace: Forever 21
Cuff: ? - borrowed from Kaitlyn

I was heading out for a fancy dinner with both of my boys this night. My hubby was wearing a sport coat and the little one had a tie on so I knew I had to bring it! I've been excited about this dress for over a week and when my hot pink pumps arrived from Shoe Dazzle, the outfit was complete! I paired it with a long layered necklace and wrapped it around itself a few times to make more of a layered choker. Sometimes when your don't have the right jewelry for the outfit you need to improvise.

This Weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Kaitlyn Fergus. I currently do not own a camel colored flat boot, and now I think I need a pair! Also, please note the jean leggings from Express!!! ;)

Boots: $49.99 Bakers

Apparently, I not only love closet swapping and complementing her on her clothes, but I also have shoe envy! She one fashionable gal!

Lunch date

Top: Old Navy -borrowed from Kaitlyn
Jeans: Express
Shoes: Payless
Belt: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Marie Marie Jewelry

I was off to the mall to have lunch (and a bloody mary) with my mother-in-law this day. This top is great because you can wear it belted with a pair of jeans or with no belt and some leggings! I paired it with an old pair of Payless boots (very cozy for walking around the mall), my multi strand necklace, and my favorite accessory, my son! I love tops that don't get pulled up every time my boy wants up!

All for my hubby

Top: urban outfitters (borrowed from Kaitlyn)
Cardigan: Forever 21
Indigo Jeans: Target
Shoes: Bakers
Necklace: Express

I guess you could call this all dressed up with no where to go. I had a super cute bra and pantie combo on and to ensure my hubby would find them I had to look good! This outfit did the trick!
Even though this top looks like it's a butterfly, it is not. It's a flower pattern and because of the short sleeves can be worn year round. I paired it with my indigo blue jean and my brown booties. I recently went through all of my old costume jewelry and came across this necklace. I bought this at Express back in 1999! I love when things come back in style!

Shoe Dazzle- My February selection

Did anyone else choose the Stephanie shoe this month? I AM IN LOVE!! And I have the perfect outfit for these! Wait, I have two outfits! To be continued.... ;)

Family fun day

Top: Target
Under shirt: Target
Jean Leggings: Express
Boots: Jessica Simpson
Bracelet: Forever 21

The snow was starting to come down, but we had plans to go shop at Toys R Us and eat brinner at IHOP. It was one of those days where you feel like wearing sweats because it's so cold outside, so I went with a sweatshirt that doesn't look like one. (At least I don't think it does.) It has a bit of a sailor vibe so I felt compelled to add a hint of red. With all that snow I needed a boot and what's better then my leather riding boots?! Yes, I wear them a lot, but that's the point right? Why buy a great pair of boots that you'll only wear once or twice. I'm a practical girl, and I say if you buy something you love, pair it with everything you can!

Brother's B-day Party

Tunic: Target -borrowed from Kaitlyn
Leggings: Express
Shoes: Forever 21
Necklace: Marie Marie Jewelry (3 clasp)

I love this Tunic! The over sized sleeves give great proportion to it and all you need is a necklace and you're good to go! I paired it with some basic black leggings and a black bootie. Since I live in a state where it snows, I wore my black flat boots to and from the car. A little snow isn't going to keep me from wearing a cute shoe when I get to my destination!

Closet Swap

My sister-in-law and I were sitting around discussing how we want all new clothes, but (of course) can not afford to shop all the time. We quickly came up with the idea of closet swapping or closet shopping. This past Saturday she showed up at my house with a bag that had tops, tunics, skirts, cardigans, purses, bracelets, and even a dress! I went through it and decided I'd keep it all and see what I can do with it! ;) She took a few dresses, tops, purses, and necklaces (yes, she got some Marie Marie Jewelry) and when the smiles on our faces were the right size we parted ways! We decided that we would trade back in 10 days. A few of the items might be borrowed longer, but as of now that is the turn in date. I can not tell you how much fun I've been having with her stuff! I really can't believe I haven't done this with anyone sooner! I mean, I've borrowed an item here and there from a friend, but this is taking it to a new level! This is not going to be the last time I do closet shopping either. Next time I'm going to Kaitlyn's closet to choose my picks first hand. I also hope some of my other sisters/friends will want to play this game with me! Think of how much money we will all save!!!
This is a brilliant concept that I hope you all try with a friend/family member ASAP!

This Weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Kristen Javens (my sister)! I love both her ring and her purse!

Purse: $85 Creatively Yours (purse party)
Ring: $20 (on sale from $32) Kohl's

Okay, that's the second Creatively Yours purse I have wanted to have! Ladies, this is why I am throwing a purse party in March. Apparently I am not only in love with clothes, shoes, and jewelry, I am also in love with purses! Oh boy!

My search for the perfect smokey eye

I got 3 makeup pallets from Sephora for Christmas this year and I decided to keep one and return the others. This left me with one hefty store credit and a great idea. I was on a mission to find a way to create the perfect smokey eye. I stumbled across this pallet. It looks amazing from the packaging and since it has everything you need in one box I went for it. Sephora sells this product in brown and black for $38 each.
I followed the steps to create my smokey eye look and I failed. It looked awful! The colors were wrong for my skin tone and I needed to use my brushes and extra colors to blend it better. Maybe I just need Lindsay Burdett to help me with this one. She does my makeup better then anyone else, so I declare a redo with her help! (If that's okay Lindsay)
If I had to decide after one try if this product is worth it or not, I'd go with not. Having said that, even with out help from Lindsay, I do like the eye liner, mascara, and 2 of the 4 colors it comes with.

I have awaken my inner ADD

It all started when I was playing with my son today. I grabbed the etch a sketch for some drawing fun and I realized all the animal shaped magnets were missing. As I looked around the family room I could see little pieces half under the table and the couch. That' s all it took. All of a sudden I was in a cleaning frenzy!
I am proud to say all pieces made it back to a appropriate homes. Toys were edited!!! Some up to the room, some stored for next child, and some in good will pile. Success! I plan on rocking my sweats for the next few days and just plowing through my house! Bedrooms, closets, drawers, and the office! I have to take advantage of the fact that I am not doing jewelry for either company this month! And what better way then to get a little order around the house! Sometimes it's just nice to wake up, wash your face, throw your hair in a ponytail and get going!

Errands

Tunic: Discovery
Leggings: Victorias Secret
Shoes: Payless
Necklace: Erin Gallagher (www.egjewelry.com)

I had a bunch of errands to run including a sit down with my State Farm agent. This outfit looks nice even though it feels like I'm wearing my pj's. (Score!) I got this tunic at Discovery about 6 months ago and it was $7.99! Got to love Discovery's prices! I paired it with my favorite key necklace and some leggings and flats. I threw on my coat and was about to run out when I realized we had gotten 2 inches of snow. I kicked off the flats and pulled on my black boots. Best thing about leggings is they look great with flats or boots!

Making use of what I have...

I have made a decision. I must come up with outfits using my existing clothes before I go shopping again! This blog makes me want to shop! It also make me aware of how often I want to wear the same outfits! No judgements, there might be a few misses among the hits that are my wardrobe. I'm going to seriously try to wear every piece over the next month. Okay, maybe not my summer clothes, but you know what I mean.

Here are the shopping exceptions:
Shoedazzle
B-day gift cards (my B-day is this month)

This should be interesting!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Abbey Kenny. Only Abbey would have 3 Coach bags on her at one time! Okay, so she is the manager at the Coach store, but still, that's a lot a beautiful bags to have on you at once!

Black purse: $498 Coach
Large wristlet: $98 Coach
Wallet: $188 Coach

The hardware on the black purse is AMAZING! It also had a gorgeous green lining inside. I fell in love with the large wristlet and after finding out it comes in 7 more colors my jaw was on the floor! Oh no, this is trouble!
