The show was such a blast! The turnout was awesome and I loved how our opera box was right over the stage! Awesome view when your hubby is the drummer and it's hard to see him otherwise! ;)
Look at me wearing shorts and mini skirts! lol It's seriously been years since I've worn anything like this, so it was a nice change! I felt like my old self again. Which was very nice! Plus, since the skirt had the elastic on both sides, it was more flattering then a basic mini! I think everyone should own one of these!

For my father-in-laws B-day, we headed over to their house for bbq pork chops and lots of other great eats! It was a casual affair, so I kept my glasses on to give my eyes a well needed rest.
I just love this tank. I bought it when I was pregnant last season, hoping to one day fit in it. I finally do! ;)
Okay, can we talk about shorts? What do you guys think? I NEVER wear shorts. I've never been a girl who wears shorts, I prefer dresses and skirts. I've been this way my entire life (mostly because I've always had shorter legs with muscle thighs and shorts get shorter every year!!!). I like the length of these. I feel like a 5 inch inseam is appropriate for a mother of 2, no? I just can't do a 3 inch one! lol I'm turning into such a old bitty! lol

What's happening in my world....

You know how it's never dull in my life? Well lately it's more of a tragic comedy! But a funny one. Because normally I'm thinking any other person with this much going on would crack. But I find humor in it all. I guess if I looked at each situation or each problem all together I'd go mad.
I choose to look at each one, one at a time. This way it stays comedic!

I could go on and on about all the madness or I can just sum it up in a short version. I choose the latter......

Stuff with my son, set backs with the new business (no worries it's still coming, just taking longer and costing more $$$ then originally planned), no A/C for 9 days (5 different men came out on 5 different days and it ended up costing us $1400!), the day the air came back on we got hit by a tornado in the next town over and lost power (a tree actually fell on my neighbors house!). Naturally, the power is still out (2 days later) and (the kicker!) - I'm having spinal surgery on Monday. Yes, this Monday.
See, tragic comedy! lol
It's all about perspective. No one is dying, my family is in good health, and we have many blessings to be thankful for. If God only gives you what you can handle, then man does he think I'm strong! lol

I have loaded the blog about a month in advance with giveaways, guest posts, outfit posts, "I want what she has!" and lots of other fun content. ;) There should be no gaps while I'm recovering so keep checking back! I'll be recovering for about 5 weeks, but will be back on the computer in no time so keep the comments and emails coming!

For our last night in Vegas, we decided to have dinner at TAO. We ate there last time we were in Vegas and it was simply amazing (we also went to the night club last time, but this time we were just looking for some great eats)! Since it was in the hotel we stayed at, it was a done deal! The drinks were amazing and the sushi was hands down the best I'd ever had! Yes, that good!

I am kinda obsessed with this top right now. It has enough sparkle around the neck to not wear lots of accessories, but since we were in Vegas, I felt the need to take it to the next level! lol I also LOVE my new Jewelmint ring. I love the wrap around turquoise. Very versatile for the summer months ahead.

This was one of my favorite days in Vegas, and also one of my favorite outfits! My hubby and I shopped around and went on a gondola ride at the Venetian (that's where we stayed for 3 nights). We kissed under every bridge for luck and then headed to the spa for massages. Shortly after we went back to the pool and then got ready for an early night out. Last Vegas photos post tomorrow!

Last time I wore this dress I styled it different. It's a very bold dress, so it was a challenge to make it look like a different outfit without adding layers to it (who wants to add layers while your in the desert in the summer?). So by simply not wearing a belt and adding different jewelry, makeup, and a purse I felt like it's a different look then I wore a few weeks ago!
On this night we went to a pool party at the Cosmopolitan hotel to see the band Cake preform. We had a wonderful time! After a long day in the sun and seeing a rock show we picked up late night sushi and turned in. Lame for Vegas? Maybe. Fun? Absolutely! ;)

Okay, so I like Victoria's secret, so what! lol I was super excited and then panicked when we booked Vegas 9 days in advance, so I bought a few bikinis and cover ups online right away. Surprisingly I loved (and kept) everything! On this day we had breakfast outside at a french bistro Bouchon and then headed out to the pool. We ended up renting a bed poolside and spent 5 hours drinking, swimming, kissing, and taking fun pictures! We had a great time, went up to take a nap before our night 2 debauchery! ;) Night 2 outfit post Monday. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

PS, not sure why the pics say different dates on them. It was a new camera and the display was all sorts of messed up (so was the saturation). I will get that taken care of stat! lol But the Vegas pics will be all off. What can you do?....

How amazing is this dress?! I got it a while back before I knew I was going to Vegas, so I was super excited I was finally going to be able to wear it! I love how it's longer in the back. So fun! I also was feeling nostalgic and brought some of the same jewelry I wore last time we went to Vegas (back in Jan. 2010) and also wanted to visit some of our favorite places. Ryan talked me into going to a steak house this night, but it worked out great because they had some of the best seafood I've ever eaten! I'm a sucker for anyplace that serves sushi or fish and veggies!

In other news, how handsome is my hubby?! I'm a lucky lady!

So this is my pool look. It's Vegas, so heels and earrings were a must! We ended up doing a little walking around after, so I was glad this cover up looked okay to be in public in. It was so nice after a 6 hour delay at Ohare to finally get there and go strait to the pool! We spent a few hours there in the 94 degree weather, went to the room for naps and started getting ready for night 1! Pictures of my night look tomorrow! ;)

China Glaze: Epic fail to Excellent!

After talking with Kyla Dannelke on Twitter, I decided to try China Glaze Crackle nail polish. It looked so cool online and after finding it on Amazon for $27 (for 6 colors) I decided to go for it! To my disappointment I realized what I was doing was not working! It says to put on a one layer, let dry completely, then put crackle on top and instant results will happen. Here is my base and first attempt (black and teal). After that turned out looking like a little kid school project, I tried purple under pink. Here is what it looked like:



From this point I vented on Twitter saying this stuff doesn't work and Kyla tells me not to put crackle on crackle! Seems so obvious looking back! lol Here is what I got when I used a OPI base color and a China Glaze Crackle top:



Great right?! I hope you all learn from my mistakes! ;)

Easy lunch Idea

I am currently obsessed with this easy lunch idea. It's simple, healthy, and light. LOVE it!

Here's what you need:
1 can tuna in water
1 teaspoon mayo (I use the omega-3 kind from whole foods)
1 teaspoon flaxseed meal
Organic romaine lettuce
Organic Cucumbers


Drain tuna and mix it with flaxseed meal and mayo. Place in center of washed romaine lettuce and add cucumber.
Thats it!! Super easy, super delish!
Also good with green peppers, tomato, celery, and onions.

Is it just me, or does everyone wish they were a ballerina?! lol I took ballet as a little lady, but quickly switched over to gymnastics because I had way too much energy and needed to do more running! Ah, what can you do?!
This skirt is so beautiful and I decided it was channelling a ballerina look. I loved how it turned out. I wanted to twirl and spin all night long. In fact, I did!

In other news, it's official....I now weigh what I did before my second child! Woo hoo!!! I still have 8 more pounds until I'm the size I was before both kids, but I couldn't be more happy! The truth is I have not worked out once! Between my neck injury and life, who has the time?! Chasing 2 kids around and changing to a gluten free diet is workout enough I guess. Oh, and wearing between 3 and 6 in heels everywhere I go doesn't hurt either! ;)

Product Review: Aquage-Sea Salt texturizing spray

Has anyone ever used this stuff before? It all started when I went on Amazon.com to order the bumble and bumble surf spray. My order was canceled due to out of stock so I got right back online and ordered the next sea salt spray I could find. This was what I got. It cost me $18.
I've used it twice and I hate it! I was under the impression that when sprayed on wet hair I would have these great beach waves as it air dried. The first time I used it, I sprayed it on my hair when it was wet and when I looked in the mirror 2 hours later I was a frizzy, stringy mess!
The second time I tried it I waited until my hair was damp and I got better results, but had to put frizz serum on the top because there were tons of fly-a-ways. Also, it still looked stringy to me. UGGGG!! Is it just me? Am I using this product wrong? Or is this one just a dud?
Also, has anyone tried the bumble and bumble one? Is it better or still stringy?

Update: I just read in this months issue of Glamor that a trick to surf spray is to spray it in damp hair. Make hair into 3 sections and make buns. Let dry completely (or sleep on it). When you undo the buns the surf spray helps to hold the wave that is made. Sounds good! Will be trying this asap!

So, this dress came in 2 colors and I bought it in both! I just love a good maxi dress! It's casual enough to replace the sweats as everyday wear, but nice enough to add some great accessories and go out wearing it! On this day, I chose to jazz it up!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day! I spent the first half of the day running through sprinklers with the kiddos and my hubby and the second half at a family party for my grandpa. All and all, it was a wonderful day!
