Outfit: Autism One- Day 2 of 3

I told you about my first day at Autism One a few days ago. Here is what I wore to the second day I attended:

coach crossbody bag wrist wrap earrings
Top: Alloy (old), Shorts: Old Navy, Shoes: Forever 21, Bag: Coach (similar) (similar) (similar), Earrings: Swap w/ Kaitlyn, Wrist Wraps: C/O Kristin Hassan, Gold Band ring: Kohls, Sunnies: Loft (similar) (similar)
I did much better at the second day of Autism One. I was beyond overwhelmed the first day and truth be told I woke up not wanting to get out of bed.
I obviously did, made myself go back and listed to a lecture titled "Food With Benefits" given by Sueson Vess.  I am so glad I did, this was a great lecture! I took so many helpful notes, met up with the speaker, and got her cookbook after it was over (I also got a few new food products that I'll share with you here when I try them out). gluten free cookbook cumin & Clove
The most important info I took away from this day was:
-Eat food from plants, not made in plants. (eat foods that will rot)
Seems obvious right? Well I can't tell you how many times in the past few days I've went to eat something and been made aware of the fact I'm not as healthy as I think. Try it, go through your day and see how much processed food you actually eat!
-Eat animals that ate leaves/plants.
-Eat fermented foods (good gut bacteria)
There were so many more helpful hints given to me at this lecture, but if I can pass the best info along, it's the above 3 points.
After listening and then shopping, we (myself, Nicolette of Momnivore's Dilemma, and a new mommy friend) then went to whole food and got a few items too. All and all, I finished this day feeling much more positive and more importantly, hopeful. ;)

*Check back tomorrow for my third and final day at Autism One. (I met Jenny McCarthy!!)

Outfit: Autism One- Day 1 of 3

I attended Autism One this year thanks to the persuasion of Nicolette of Momnivore's Dilemma. Here is what I wore to day 1:

maxi dress jewelry Untitled-7
Dress: E Street Denim, Vest: Express, Belt: Forever 21, Shoes: Target, Earrings: swap w/ Kaitlyn, Stackable Rings: Shop Jules, Ring: C/O J Good, Watch: C/O Kristin Hassan

She told me in advance how overwhelming it would be, but I thought she meant overwhelming like a lot of info to take in, lots of vendors, etc. It was overwhelming emotionally and mentally as well (which I was NOT prepared for) and I cried after leaving the first day.
I guess I thought I was doing a good job(ish) by my son so far. I know we haven't gone full on bio medical yet, but I guess I didn't realize how far away I was from it either.
Needless to say I had a mild panic attack while sitting in a lecture called "What's Next? Exploring your options by Anju Usman, MD. I literally left the room with my notes full of words I needed to go home and look up! I felt guilty, I felt under prepared, I felt like I needed to make changes...NOW!  I immediately went and bought new vitamins and probiotics. It did make me feel a bit better. ;)
Check back Thursday and Friday for day 2 and 3 of my Autism One Experience.

**Check out how I styled this dress for a night out on the Sisters Marie Blog!

Outfit: Maxi Skirt and Faux Leather

maxi skirt jewelry faux leather jacket
Jacket: C/O Sheinside, Top: Stylemint, Skirt: C/O Sheinside, Shoes: BCBG, Watch/Wrist Wrap/Chain Bracelet/Earrings: C/O Kristin Hassan

I think I have found my new favorite online shop, Sheinside. These 2 pieces are the only ones I have so far (well, 2 more are on the way), but the quality is amazing and the price for this quality makes it double amazing.
I just love pairing a maxi skirt with faux leather and a tee. I threw on the ever amazing Kristin Hassan Athens collection and a pair of studded flats and I was ready for a day of errands, wellness doctor visits, and well, a "mommy on the go" kind of a day.
What do you guys think? Does is look like I'm wearing lounge wear, because it felt like it! ;)

Outfit: My Son's B-day

beauty earring cluster
Top: Banana Republic, Shorts: Old Navy, Sandals: Target, Earrings: Erin Gallagher's Gem Bar, Ring: Lia Sophia, Chain Ring: Tiffany & CO, Sunnies: MNG by Mango, Necklace: Gift

My son celebrated his 4th birthday over the weekend and we let him have the party of his dreams. He's finally has an opinion about what he wants (and a strong opinion at that) so we created a party around what he wanted. He asked for a bubble guppies themed party, bouncy house, cake (yellow cake with blue frosting to be exact), and french fries. Alright little dude, you got it! ;) He counted down on his calendar and every morning would tell us how many days until his party. He had a wonderful time and said it was so fun. Mission accomplished! Kinda easy to throw a dream party for a 4 year old, I wonder what he'll ask for next year....

And here's me asking my hubby to take a nice photo, this is what I got:
Come on, please.....
Jerk!! ;)

** Make sure you check out the Sisters Marie blog today, fun new item for sale! ;)

Product Review: Artistry Light Up Lip Gloss

artistry lip gloss lip gloss beautyIMG_32132IMG_32092 light up lip gloss
All Jewelry: C/O Kristin Hassan, Top: Stylemint

Artistry Light Up Lip Gloss (Passion): $15.75

How amazing of an idea is this?! It's brilliant! I love the size and shape (easy to carry, lighter weight then it would seem), I love that it has a mirror on it so you can reapply anywhere you see fit, and I SUPER LOVE that there is a light to aid in all of this!  Since the light is on the brush end, it lights up the exact spot you need it lit, your lips.
There is a sort of tingle feeling (almost like a plumper) and it's not super sticky, which is key in a gloss.
Okay, now lets talk price. $15.75 people! You can't NOT try it, this is for sure a steal. Overall I am beyond pleased and am so excited I now know about this awesome product. It comes in so handy and I was even able to reapply at night, outside by the car with ease! Perfection ;)
It comes in 5 different shades so make sure you pick one (or all) of them up!

*This product was given to me but that in no way influenced my opinion.

Mother's Day Gifts

I know it's about a week late, but better late then never!

This year not only did I get to have a dinner with my moms side, have a morning to sleep in and wake up to the best kids in the world yelling "Happy Mother's Day!", and attend brunch with my hubby's side of the fam, but I ALSO got super great gifts! I (of course) would be happy without, but these were too great not to share!
Here is what I got from my hubby's family:bagLOVE the color scheme! I can't wait to use my new tote and rotate the necklace and sandals into rotation. So pretty!
From my hubby:
camera remote A wireless camera remote! I have been taking my own pictures via a tripod and timer for the past 14 month. I press the button, run into position and then repeat! If my hubby is home I have him take my photos, but I've wanted a remote for FOREVER now! Ask and you shall receive. ;) I can't wait to use this bad boy.
And finally, my gift from my son:
rock gift
He made it as school and it came home wrapped with him. Since this was his first school year I did not know that they do this. IT IS AWESOME! Probably My favorite gift! I guess I'm a sucker for googlie eyes. My hubby could have saved a few bucks if he knew this before hand. ;)

Outfit: Brunch Atire

bcbg top IMG_27862 top large ring heels
Top: Swap w/ Kaitlyn (BCBG), Cami: Dots, Jeans: 7 for all Mankind, Jewelry: C/O Kristin Hassan, Shoes: C/O Just Fabulous

This is what I wore to Mother's Day brunch this year. I rarely wear black pants but I decided I wanted to wear the top Kaitlyn swapped with me and black jeans were the best I could do as far as matching this day. ;)
I super love my new heels from Just Fab, so I was very excited to find that they were tall enough to wear with my pants (yes, they require a 5-6 inch heel, but I love them anyway;)! Beautiful right?! I just love the faux lace up detail and the buckle.
Now lets talk jewelry. Here is me wearing more of the Athen's collection for Passport To Style. How amazing is that ring?! Keep check back at to see when this baby is released (I think it's next week sometime) and in the meantime shop shop shop! This collection is ONLY for sale 2 and 1/2 more weeks and then it's gone for good.

Dressing to Music: Norah Jones- She's 22

I am in LOVE with the new Norah Jones record. Not just a song or 2, but the album is amazing. This is one of my favorites on the record, but I'm sure I'll have another "dressing to music" inspired my Norah Jones in the near future. ;) Here is what I put on as I slow danced around my room: forever 21 blouse house of harlow 9 west shoes
Blouse: Forever 21, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: 9 west, Teal Ring: House of Harlow, Necklace: Oh, Poppy!, Wrist Wrap: Kristin Hassan

What do you think? Are you a Norah Jones fan or not so much?

KH city tour

Good morning everyone! You may have noticed my recent partnership with Kristin Hassan, and I’m sure you’ve taken note of her new program Passport to Style: World Tour 2012! Passport to Style is a fresh and exciting experience that will be bringing you almost a dozen different jewelry collections via a virtual trip around the world! Each city will be hosted by a guest blogger “Tour Guide”, and guess what.. I’m your Tour Guide for the third city, ATHENS!

Kristin sent me a huge package filled with ten different styles of jewelry, all inspired by the ancient capitol. This my friends, was an amazing day! ;) I am obsessed with this collection. Each peice I pulled out was better then the next and the amount of ooos and ahhhs that left my mouth was ridiculous. There are some major must haves in this collection. Not just one or two peices, but all of them. I don't know how I would have explaned to my hubby that I bought ever single piece, so it's good that I was the tour guide on this one. I dare you to not want them all!

I’m so excited to style up an outfit with Grecian flair! Here’s a look I would wear as I tour the magical and historical city of Athens:

kristin hassan, banana republic Passport to style 2

passport to style 4
wedge shoes passport to style 6
blue scarf head scarf tie dye scarf
Top and Shorts: Banana Republic, Bag: C/O Just Fabulous, Belt: Fossil, Shoes: Target, Scarf and all jewelry: C/O Kristin Hassan

The jewelry from the Athens Collection is a must have for every woman! Sadly though, it is only available in limited quantities for three weeks! Claim yours a.s.a.p. - Shop Now!
But wait, that’s not all that Kristin and I have been working on. Be sure to check back next Wednesday for my Athens evening outfit post and even more jewelry. We also have an amazing giveaway coming up! Make sure you don’t miss a thing from Kristin or the tour by reserving your passport.
