Outfit: What's Your Inseam Rule?

The weather is finally cooperating and we are getting some real spring temperatures lately.
I'd rather skip the coat and wear a long sleeve blouse with my shorts most days.
Here is how I styled shorts with a blouse:

Blouse: Piperlime, Shorts: Siwy, Belt & Watch: Fossil, Wedges: C/O Just Fab, Bag: Rachel Zoe, Hat: Gap (similar)(similar), Necklace, Pave Ring, & Gold Bracelet: Baublebar, Teal & Gold Bracelet: House of Gemmes, Chain Bracelet & bow Ring: T+J Designs, Sunnies: Prada

Okay, lets talk inseam.
I swore after kids I would not go shorter then a 4 inch inseam. Then I lost all the baby weight and went to 3 inches.
These shorts have a 2 inch inseam.
As a mother I always want to be age and style appropriate, but I also am a girl who likes to wear shorts and FINALLY has thinner legs (post kids). What's a girl to do?
My solution: I have shorts in 2-6 inch inseam to rock all summer long.
My compromise was to buy them in all lengths.
Moms and non moms out there alike, what are your thought on inseams?
Can a 34 year old mother of two pull off a two inch inseam? I say why not?! YOLO ;)

Now lets talk about how I just said YOLO... lol

I know what you mean, and I had similar standards. When I was pregnant or shortly after, it had to be 4" or so 'cause of the stretch marks on my thighs and general fatness. When those faded and I lost some weight, I went a little shorter last summer. I don't think my legs are quite 2-inch-inseam quality, but I don't think it's necessarily scandalous for a mom to do. Especially since you balanced it out here with a loose, flowy, long-sleeved top. I say, you go girl!

My rule is that if you can rock it (and you clearly can- damn girl!) then do it. I always figure if you're showing that much skin on the bottom, then cover it up on the top- as you did. Keeps you from looking like an 18 year old.

So long as the shorts fit properly (i.e. not too tight, no one wants to see sausage thighs!) and your bum is covered, then you're all good!

Sarah's philosophy is also spot on! Balance!

If you CAN you SHOULD rock those shorts! You look great and it makes sense to wear what makes you feel good.

I never wear shorts. Ever. :)

But you and I could start a maxi dress revolution.
