No Such Thing as Too Many Stripes

Do you ever pair your stripes with more stripes? It just feels like the right thing to do! I have had this body-con number for over three years now and it is still in heavy rotation. In the past I have always used this dress as the base and layered up over it, but on this day I decided to let the dress be the star. I grabbed an amazing stripe clutch (complete with adorable pom poms), gladiator sandals, and statement sunglasses and I was good to go for my day of errands and lunch out.

Product review: Glo Minerals Tinted Primer

You probably know by now I have a small obsession with the brand Glo Minerals. I love their matte crayons and own quite a few of their other products as well! When they reached out to me to try their new item for Spring, tinted primer, it was a no brainier. This product is available in four shades, and they are all SPF 30 & oil free! For me, having a SPF in my daily skincare routine is a must, so this made me even more excited to try it out! The primer glides on to instantly even skin tone, mask imperfections and provide all day coverage. You can wear it alone for sheer radiance or prep foundation for a flawless complexion.

I was given the tinted primer in the shades light and fair which was a great idea actually to have two shades on hand. I found that the light was a perfect fit for all over my face and the fair was great for under eye and even on my eye lids to prep for eye shadows. I have been using both daily for the past two weeks and I feel like my skin has been looking flawless lately! I use the tinted primer alone during the week and under foundation for nights out or for photo shoots. I honestly can not say enough good things about my experience with this primer!

If you are in the market for a tinted primer, I would highly recommend you trying this one!

What is your go-to makeup brand?

Recipe: Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

Last year, I saw this pin on Pinterest and decided I had to make these for Easter. I needed to tweak the recipe to be gluten free, so with trial and error (and messing around with my flour ratios) I was able to create these yummy gluten free versions! This year I'll be making a new sweet treat for my Easter dessert competition, but I wanted to share this one with you guys because it was such a crowd pleaser! And of course, click on the original pin linked above for the regular recipe.
Here is what you will need:
Ingredients
1/2 cup of butter, softened
  • 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup gluten free multi-purpose flour
  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • pink, blue, purple, and white candy melts

Instructions
  1. In the bowl of a large stand mixer, cream the butter and the brown sugar until light and fluffy, about two minutes. Beat in the vanilla.
  2. Slowly add the flour, scraping down the sides as necessary.
  3. With the mixer still running, slowly add in the sweetened condensed milk. You may need to stop the mixer periodically to scrape down the sides.
  4. Once it is fully combined, stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Form the dough into one inch balls, and then shape into eggs. Place on a wax paper lined pan and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.
  6. Melt the candy melts according to the directions on the bag. Keeping the truffles in the refrigerator, and removing only three or four at a time, dip them in the candy melts one at a time with a fork. Gently tap off any excess chocolate and let dry on wax paper.

I loved the presentation of these just as much as the taste! Super rich and delicious and almost too cute to eat. ;) What desserts do you eat on Easter Sunday? Is this a recipe you would try?

Dare To Flare

This season is all about flare denim and Silver Jeans has you covered! I got these amazing flare beauties in white and blue and can not wait to wear them all Spring/Summer long. You may remember my post from two weeks ago featuring my kids wearing Silver Jeans styles. You really do have to stop by their site and snoop around. The selection they have for this coming season is pretty amazing. I know my husband has his eye on one of their denim jackets and there is a knit that is screaming for me to buy it already! Hello, my name is Lisa, and I have a denim obsession! ;)

For my first time pairing my white flare jeans, I decided to keep things classic...black and white will never go out of style!

How adorable is this watermelon bag? I am in love! It was the perfect pop of color to add to my simple outfit (along with my red lip that is). This outfit was great for my errands and helping out at the school. My kids loved the bag too...they kept pretending to eat it. I love how cozy flare denim is as well. I was able to bend down and be on the floor and still be very comfortable.

Getting Shifty with a Great Print

A shift dress is always a great idea. Year in and year out, this type of dress never goes out of style. Add in a fun bold print and you had me and let's get shifty! I mean, how can you not buy this mixed print beauty?

I kept the styling super easy by adding a crop boot, faux leather jacket, and a fringe bag. To finish my outfit off, I added a bright lip and great black sunglasses. Can I just say, I am loving this sunny warmer weather we are having? OK, sure it's going to snow in a few days (welcome to Chicago weather), but Spring is for sure on its way. I am so ready for consistent warmer weather!

Spring, We are Ready for You!

This first photo, I can't even (cuteness overload)! I have been wearing of Silver Jeans for years, but now my kids are becoming fans too. I honestly didn't know they sold kids clothing, but as soon as I looked around online, I fell in love. The site is stocked with styles for this coming season and great transitional pieces as well!

The toddler and boys clothing is so great. They have the best western button up tops and the coolest jeans. I am going to need the full line for my son. If her wore literally all Silver Jeans clothing, he would for sure be the best dressed! ;) Here is my little man styling a boys short sleeve shirt and cargo shorts. (I found the boys clothing to run 1/2 size large.)

The toddler girls clothing line is also amazing. I want almost every pair of shorts, the overalls, each dress, and don't even get me started on this romper, jacket combo that she is wearing here. The print mixing detail on the back pockets is perfection and the jacket is amazing. I love that it is a crop style in a dark wash. The great thing about all the clothing highlighted in this post is that it is not only cute, but the quality is outstanding. I would not push or promote a brand that I didn't feel proud to share with you guys. And this line is something worth telling you about!
