Christmas Cards with Shutterfly

It really is the most wonderful time of the year. Yesterday we got together with family and ate way too much while thinking about all we are grateful for. Today, the shopping frenzy begins! For me, the shopping has already began as I have a large family to shop for and I like to start early. Another thing I like to do early? Get my Christmas card ready so I can send them out the Monday after Thanksgiving!

Every year I look forward to Christmas cards. Not just making our own, but receiving cards from all my friends and family as well. In my home, we display all of the cards we receive around our mirror in the entryway and I love looking at them everyday. To us, they become part of our holiday decor. This year, unlike years past, I had a extended family photo session. It wasn't a Christmas card photo shoot, but since they are updated photos, we decided to use them. Next year we will be back to taking holiday themed/holiday colors photos for sure!

When it comes to making my holiday cards, I choose Shutterfly. This is my third year using them, and as always I am obsessed! The process is so fun and also very easy to navigate through and save your work as drafts as you go. You can customize every step from he shape of the card-stock, to the lining of the envelope, to how many (or few) photos you want to add. Heck, you can even have them address your cards for you as well. The customizability options are truly endless. When I started looking at cards, I knew I wanted to use two photos. This year I wanted to try a color scheme with either red or natural tones in it as well. Here are the four cards I added to my favorites section before I picked this years card:
In the end, I went with the first buffalo plaid card and altered it to fit how many photos I wanted. I also added a beautiful envelope insert as well as a design on the front of the envelope where I will address them. I LOVE my cards!

Below are the two photos I ended up using:
