This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Katrina Cabrera. Her entire look is amazing!

Dress: $99 on sale (originally $305) Alisha Levine, got it on swirl by dailycandy
Leather Wrap Bracelet: $8.50 Esty.com
Sandals: $29 Victoria's Secret

This is the cutest dress and it can really be worn to variety of occasions. If she just added some heels, she could attend a wedding for sure!
I am also dying to get my hands on my very own leather wrap bracelet. I love the buckle detail and how delicate it looks for leather! She finished the look with a simple gold sandal. All and all, outstanding look! LOVE all the online shopping! Well played Katrina.....well played!

Dinner Party in our new kitchen

Dress: Express
Cardigan: Target
Necklace: Stella & Dot

We had a couple over for dinner this past weekend and I was really excited to use my new kitchen. I decided to make ribs, a chopped salad, and baked beans (I actually bought the beans from Famous Daves). I went with the boil, bake, and broil method with the ribs so it took about 3 hours from start to finish. This gave me plenty of time to get the salad and all it's options chopped and ready. This also game me time to get myself ready!
I decided to wear a maxi dress for comfort and room for food growth! I paired it with a short sleeved cardigan and a silver charm necklace. I was glad to have worm my apron while saucing the ribs because it would have ended up all over me! ;)

24 weeks

Man is the belly growing! At 24 weeks I have gained 15 pounds and have very little discomfort! (thank goodness). I do have the normal circulation issues though. I lose feeling in my arms and legs during the night if I flip away from my left side. Also, when I'm sitting on the ground for a long time with my 2 year old my legs get cramps. Other then that, it's smooth sailing! This pregnancy is NOTHING like the pregnancy of my son. I'm very thankful for this!
I get to have a third ultra sound in August because the placenta was under her head at 20 weeks (it was blocking the birth canal). Worst case scenario, if it's still in the way we will discuss C-section options. Either way I'm happy! Weird right? I'm happy I get to see my little bean again and I'll be fine with a C-section. Who wouldn't want to know the date and time of their child's birth ahead of time?! Yes, I know it's major abdominal surgery, but I'm okay with leaving my lady bits out of things this time around! ;)

Family party

Dress: Pea in the Pod
Shoes: Target
Necklace: Stella & Dot
Bracelet: Banana Republic

The last time I wore this dress I had my hair pulled back into a bun and accessorized with a very bold necklace. This time I went with hair down with loose curls and subtle gold jewelry. I really wanted to add a belt, but with my growing belly, comfort had to come fist. Sadly, a belt did not feel very good, even if worn empire style.
I paired it with some gold detail flats and was ready for a day in the sun! I also tried to do the side braid again only this time I let the braid continue down the side a bit more. I am a big fan of this style. It has a very old Hollywood feel to it, with a modern twist of course!

Dear Jessica Simpson, I LOVE YOUR SHOES! Sincerely, Lisa Fergus

How hot are these?!?! Since Shoedazzle has been a bust the past few months, I decided to use my unused shoe fund and treat myself to a pricier pair. I found these Jessica Simpson brand shoes at Victoria's Secret. I AM IN LOVE!
Yes, they are super high (I think 5 inches) but they are very comfortable and surprisingly sturdy. I can not wait to wear them out! And I will find a reason to do that soon....Promise!

What's happening in my world....

It's been a long week! My husband went away to Florida for a 5 day business trip and my son had MAJOR separation anxiety! He didn't really notice day 1 (since my husband is at work everyday and it is not abnormal for him to only be home at night), but the real fun began day 2! I had no idea what was wrong with him. He would not eat. After about 28 hours of that he started eating again and stopped sleeping. I'm talking no naps and (my all time favorite) up from 12:00-4:30am physically assaulting daddy's side of the bed. I felt awful, but I actually gave him benadryl to finally get him down! Yesterday was better. Daddy sent us a video of himself talking to my son and we watched it like 100 times. My son also went over to the bookcase and took three framed photos of my husband and lined them up on a table in the family room. He kept on looking at them and telling me "da da'. Yes, we have a da da shrine in my family room as of now! ;) Great news is, he comes home today!!! I missed him so much, but I also missed co-parenting! It's tough work being 6 and 1/2 months pregnant and taking care of a toddler who stopped eating and sleeping. Needless to say, I desperately need a nap!

In other news, the house is coming right along! The paint has all gone up. The trim has been finished. The window in the kitchen was patched, painted, and trimmed. And best of all, the special order doors were delivered yesterday! Now we wait for August 3rd for the install to happen and the house will be done.......for this year! ;)

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Ali Orebaugh. I love the dress and necklace she was wearing this night! There is nothing better then a basic black T-shirt dress. You can wear it different each time you put it on simply by adding a belt, or changing up the jewelry, cardigan, shoes, and hair style! Great find Ali!

Graduation Party

Top: Target
Shorts: Pea in the Pod
Sandals: DSW
Sunglasses: Target
Necklace: Stella & Dot
Ring: Banana Republic

This past weekend we celebrated our friend Christine Todish's college graduation. She had lots of people at her house and other then the humidity that made it seem like 100 degrees out, the weather was perfect for an outdoor party.
I was excited to wear this purple top I got from Target. (It is maternity, but still super cute!) I love the lace detail on the shoulders. I paired it with some shorts, minimal jewelry, and sunglasses. I went with the double braid on top to fight the frizz that was dying to come through! ;)
It was wonderful to see everyone, even if my night was cut short by a stupid bee that thought it would be cool to sting my 2 year old son! Poor guy! I was so unprepared! We had to jet out of there and get some ice, benadryl, and some bee sting antibiotic. He was feeling much better the next morning. Only difference is now when I ask him what a bee says, I say buzz and he runs away laughing! haa

Date Night

Dress: Motherhood Maternity
Earrings: Black House/White Market
Bracelet: Vintage
Ring: Stella & Dot

Well, my front bumps are filling in! ;) I am definitely getting to the point where maternity clothes are a must. I love this dress from Motherhood Maternity! The drop neck line and the back are my favorite. I paired it with a chandelier earring and some simple silver jewelry on my wrist and hand.
Since it was yet another day in the 90's, I decided my pretzel twist french braid was the way to go. I think it tied the entire look together nicely..don't you?!

I felt like such a mom today....

This used to be a white shirt. Yes, I said white! My 2 year old son wore this shirt for all of 5 hours. This is probably the worse mess he's made to date (as far as clothes go) and as far as I'm concerned, I find this impressive!
He played outside with chalk and balls and a lot of dirt found it's way to the top. After that we had some pizza. Now I don't know about all kids and napkins, but my kid hates to use one. He prefers his shirt.....obviously! Thank God for bleach! And spray and wash! What would mothers of boys do without both!!?!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Lindsay Burdett. This skirt is AMAZING!

Skirt: $98 Kristin Hassan

The colors are so bright and fun and Lindsay told me this was the third time wearing this skirt and each time she has worn it with a different colored top! How great is that? I love when you get lots of outfits for the price of 1! Great buy Lindsay and great design Kristin!

Housewives Party

Dress: Target
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Necklace: Stella and Dot
Bracelet: Banana Republic
Earrings: Francesca's

My friend Ali hosted a housewives party to watch the New Jersey Desperate Housewives big fight this past Monday night. She served wine and had chips and salsa and this AMAZING tortilla soup. Good food, great friends, and a stupid good episode! All and all the night was a complete success! I think we should start doing this more often ladies!!!!

I picked this black dress from target because it is not maternity and I am running out of time to cram in non maternity clothes! ;) I paired it with a 4 inch Jessica Simpson shoe and some gold jewelry. Since I was going for the Bethenny Frankel look I wore minimal eye make up and played up the lips with a red gloss. I also went with the staple curler hair she wears but put my own twist on it by adding a side braid to pull it off my face on one side. I loved it!

ps- Check out my girl Kristin's blog. She's another Chicago housewife!

Summer days

Top: Target
Shorts: Pea in the Pod
Shoes: DSW
Necklace: Stella & Dot
Rings: Stella & Dot

This is pretty much my typical summer daytime look. When I'm not wearing dresses, I'm usually in shorts and a loose tank. I try to avoid maternity clothes when I can and this loose shirt from Target did the trick.
I did feel like this outfit was a bit plain and I wanted to dress it up a bit. The simple act of curling my hair and adding a few cute accessories jazzed it right up!

How'd She Do That?

My sister Michelle is a genius! With two daughters and more hair pretties then anyone should have, she came up with an idea to display some and make it easier for the girls to pick what they want to wear each day. She calls this hair pretty wall art!

Rods: $9.99 each JC Pennys
Ribbon: $2.00 Michaels

She simply secured 2 rods to the wall and used 5 strands of ribbon tying them to both rods. This left her with places for rubber bands on the ends and ribbons to clip barrettes to! She assured me that they still have a full drawer full of other hair accessories, but this made a dent in it!
I am in awe! This is such a great idea and I can't wait until my daughter can pick what she wants in her hair so I can make one for us too! Yeah, I said us. Mommies like their hair pretties on display too! ;)

My date with Edward

Jean Leggings: Pea in the Pod
Tank: Target
Cardigan: Target
Sandals: Target
Cuff: House of Harlow
Necklace: Stella & Dot

I have an addiction and his name is Edward. I am mildly obsessed. I read all 4 books each time a new movie comes out and I make sure I get to see said movie right away! Opening day ended up falling on my hubby's day off, so he watched the little man and I went on a date with Edward. I was actually going to the movie alone and on the way there spoke to a friend of mine only to learn it was her day off and she could be at the theater in 10 minutes. Wonderful! A double date it is! (Obviously she gets Jacob!)
The movie was AMAZING! It was just like the book! I also read Stephenie Meyer's new book called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner and Eclipse actually used story line from this book too! See, I told you I'm obsessed!

As I do for all my dates with Edward, I dressed nice enough to not look funny at an eleven a.m. movie, but I had to also look nice for my date. I decided to go with my jean leggings and a tank. I topped it with a black cardigan and FINALLY had a chance to wear my Nicole Richie cuff. I though the red and black were good color choices for a vampire flick!

Trying new braids

A few Sundays a month my entire family gets together at my moms house. On this particular day my niece Adelynn called me when I was driving over and said, "auntie Lisa, will you braid my hair all the way around and down?"
All the way around and down?? Hmmmm.....okay, now I admit I had no idea what she was talking about but I agreed and when I got there she described what she wanted. Her babysitter does this style to her all the time so she actually knew what it looked like. I had some big shoes to fill here!!!
This is what we ended up with. I like to call it the braided crown (obviously a look for little princesses!).
I wonder if i could do this braid to myself. It would look pretty amazing with a few of my Grecian dresses!

4th of July

Dress: Target
Necklace: Stella Dot
Shoes: DSW

Everyone has their own way of showing holiday spirit. This year I chose to skip the red, white, and blue and rock the fire works look! I felt like the grand finale all day! ;)
The fabric on this dress is very light and breezy and since it was about 90 degrees outside, that came in handy!
I would also like to note that this is the last day I will EVER attempt to wear my hair down in this crazy humidity. I had tragic frizz by the end of the day that my hair serum could not even tame. Lesson learned!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Michelle Kuhlemeier (again!). Every time I see her, I want something else! What can I say, she has great taste!

Purse: $110 bought on sale for $55 Creatively Yours (purse party company)

I love that the color is neutral but the detail on the straps give it a more playful look. Great for everyday wear or special nights out!
Michelle, I would like to borrow this purse when you are done wearing it. I'm just saying.... ;)

Hot day, cool night

Tank: Pea in the Pod
Cardigan: Old Nay
Shorts: Pea in the Pod
Necklace: Stella Dot
Sandals: DSW
Jeans: Motherhood Maternity

It was 84 degrees during this day and in the low 60's at night. This is how my outfit progressed as the weather changed. I began the day in these cute tailored black shorts and paired it with a color tank and a short sleeved cardigan. The warmer it got, the higher my hair went off my neck and head. As it got cooler at night, I ditched the shorts and threw on some cozy jeans and ran around with my boys. I love summer nights! I also love outfits that transform through the day to keep your style in tack, but also keep you moving with your family!
