out with the old and in with the new

I decided it was time to edit my nail polish box. I really wanted a reason to go buy 2 new colors of polish, and what better reason then I just threw out 7 old colors?! All of these were either goopy, super low, and just old and ugly!
Photobucket

These are my new colors. I paid for the 2 larger O.P.I. bottles, the smaller ones were gift with purchases from Ulta. Woo hoo! Love free stuff!

This was a successful trip for sure! Now I like all my nail polish! I haven't been able to open that box of mine and say that for years! ;)

Jacket: Victoria's Secret
Tank: Victoria's Secret
Jeans: Target
Shoes: Kohls
Necklace: Stella & Dot
Purse: Alloy

We had a 2 day window where the high was only in the 70's and the lows were in the 60's. It was beautiful. I took full advantage!
I wanted to wear my olive colored jacket from last season because it is light weight and the sleeves fold up. I decided to throw on jeans and a lose tank for the main pieces of this outfit. I then choose brown accents like the sandals and the bag. I love this bag. It's great because you can wear it across your body or tighten the strap and wear it on one side. Alloy was have a 30% off sale a couple of weeks ago so I snatched this one up! I always make wish lists on websites and buy when there are sales! The best things (and prices) come to those who wait! ;)

3rd Ultrasound

Here is a photo of our little girls face! I know I'm partial, but she beautiful right?! I think she kinda looks like her brother too. I can't wait to meet her in person in 10 weeks!!
We had our 3rd ultrasound last week to see if the placenta had moved out of the way or not. The doctor told us it has moved enough to not do a C-section. It's still half blocking the birth canal but the more my uterus grows, the more it will get out of the way. (or that's what they are hoping for anyway).
If I go into labor and there is more blood then normal they will assume the placenta moved back and do an emergency C-section at that time. Lucky me! ;)
I'm sure it will all be fine! I just can't wait to meet her! Hurry up little bean!!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Karen Javens. She was wearing this amazing color changing nail polish this past weekend and I was blown away! Nail polish that changes color in the sun? Um....yes please!

Nail Polish: $10 Del Sol

I really wish I would have discovered this earlier in the summer! Oh well, it will work for another month or so! And if you live in a warmer state it could be good year round! Oh man, now I'm jealous of people in sunny states for more reasons! ;)

The Real Housewives of Chicago

Top: Von Mour
Under tank: Target
Leggings: Motherhood maternity
Earrings: Erin Gallagher Jewelry
Bracelets: Shoe Dazzle
Shoes: Target

We were at it again! This time we all met up for the finale of the Real Housewives of New Jersey at Kristin's house. She had a yummy mango salsa and some pasta with chicken and veggies for dinner. Of course (and quite obviously from the last picture) wine was flowing throughout the evening! The finale was awesome but the best times are all the funny smack talk we do about all the characters on the show. I love my girl friends and fellow mommies. We have so much fun together!
We went with casual attire this night. I decided to wear black legging and pair it with this Free People top I found on sale at Von Mour. I was very excited to get to wear my new peridot earrings from Erin Gallagher Jewelry! I love them and fear I will be wearing them everyday! ;)

My hubby got me a new camera!

Isn't it beautiful?! I am in LOVE! I seriously am obsessed with it. The first day I had it I went outside and just shot different flowers and spider webs. I was trying to figure out my settings and get used to the camera in general. No better way then to jump right in right?! Here are two of my favorite shots that came out of that mini project.
I am super excited to NOT pay for kid portraits any longer! I can do it way better then JC Penny with this bad boy!
I am also excited to upgrade the photos that will be used on my blog. Hope everyone enjoys the better prints from here on in!

I GOT what she has!

I finally received my leather bracelet from Esty.com! My shipping information told me that if I hadn't received it within 20 days then I should notify the seller. I anxiously awaited and after 19 days I got my package. This $8.50 leather wrap bracelet comes all the way from Thailand! It was in a really cute pouch and box and the seller threw in an extra wooden beaded bracelet for blogging about it?! Or they just throw in extras all the time?! Who knows! All I know is it was well worth the wait and I am super happy with my purchase!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Lindsay Burdett. I am really loving this purse!

Purse: $75 Boutique

Sadly we can not own this bag too. The boutique Lindsay found this at in La Grange has closed down. ;( She also got it back in fall of 2008, so maybe I'll just borrow it?! If you are interested in who made the bag, the designer name is Melie Bianco. I did find more bags from this designer on Piperlime.

In other news, Lindsay recently started a blog of her own! It's called Home.Life.Style.Design. It's a really cute blog that I hope everyone checks out!

28 weeks

It's official, I've hit my 3rd trimester! I have to tell you, I already miss the energy and comfort level of the 2nd! There is not one day that goes by now that I don't end up with swallow feet elevated by days end!
The first photo is clearly a side shot and the second is my view! See, no feet!! haaa
To date, I have gained 24 pounds and I am nesting hardcore. The first 26 weeks of this pregnancy I was all about house renovations and getting the house ready, now I've gone into panic mode and it's time to get the baby room and baby items ready. It's so much different with your second! There is no shower, no constant reminder that you are pregnant by family and friends, you are not as scared, you don't have all the books and child prep classes to attend to, and you are already busy raising your existing child. It really is an entirely new experience. I may have gotten too wrapped up in the easy/breeziness of the whole thing, because now I find myself with 12 weeks left and nothing is ready for her! I know it will all get done, but I would have started everything much sooner if this was my first!
As far as sleeping goes, I am up all night! I miss the days of only 1-3 bathroom breaks during the night! These days it's more like every 2 hours!! She usually kicks something or switches positions and all of a sudden I find myself shuffling down the hallway (blind as a bat) to the bathroom.
I also find that ANY position I try to sleep in, within a couple hours I lose circulation in my arms/hands/legs/tush and I need to move around a lot more.
I have also been getting lots more headaches. Nothing Tylenol can't handle, but it's just another reminder that I'm real pregnant now!
These are all very normal side affects and overall this has been a super blessed pregnancy!
Next up, ultra sound on Tuesday to see if my placenta has moved out of the way. I guess I'll know on Tuesday if I'm headed to another normal birth or I'm scheduling a C-section. I'll keep you posted!

lunch date in LaGrange

Top: Forever 21
Skirt: Old Navy
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Sun Glasses: Target

I was so excited when I found this shirt at Forever 21 this past weekend. It has elastic on both sides, just like all my maternity tops, so it was a no brainier to pick this on up! I paired it with a maternity skirt in an oatmeal color and threw on some cute ballet flats that I got in Las Vegas back in January. I felt the shirt had enough sparkle so I ditched the jewelry for a day.
For those of you that have never been to Casa Margarita in LaGrange, I highly recommend you try it out!! Great Mexican food for lunch or dinner. I think Lindsay and myself may have eaten all their guacamole, but maybe they have more in by now! ;)

Shoe Dazzle- My August Selection

Shoe Dazzle is not only a monthly shoe service, it now includes jewelry and bags too! For the same monthly price ($39.95) you can choose from lots of different items. There were a few months where I wasn't ordering anything because I felt the selection wasn't that great, but now they are making it hard to resist!
I love this set of three bangles. You can wear them all together, just two, or a single one to give your look a bit of pop! It broke down to about $13 per bracelet and I felt that was a price I could live with! I am very excited to wear them in the coming weeks!

Rainy day of erands

Top: H&M (both tanks)
Jeans: Motherhood Maternity
Shoes: Kohls
Headband: Express
Umbrella: Target

Sometimes rainy days are fun. Especially when it's only drizzling out and your son thinks it's a game! ;)
I went with this double tank I got awhile back at H&M because (as you all know) I love to not wear maternity when I can. I feel almost like I'm getting away with something.... and I like it!
I paired it with jeans and my new sandals. Due to the rain that would undoubtedly turn into humidity, I went with a pony tail and headband. I'd also like to add that my bangs are almost long enough to pull back without using a braid or a headband to secure! Woo hoo!

I GOT what she has!

I knew I wanted this tunic the minute I saw it on my sister. I also knew that even after I lose the baby weight I will never be wearing a size XS. Sadly borrowing the shirt was out of the question (stupid skinny sister), so I had to take matters into my own hands! ;)
The top is no longer on the Kohls website, but as of this past weekend it was still in the stores. It's marked way down and I can't believe I found it! Woo hoo! I am already plotting my outfit for next summer!

Feeling HOT HOT HOT!

Dress: Target
Shoes: JC Penny
Headband: Express
Ring: Banana Republic

This Chicago summer is a scorcher! It's been in the mid 90's consistently (then add humidity) and frizz ease just isn't cutting it during the mid day hours! I also find it especially challenging because I have the thickest hair I've ever had in my entire life due to my pregnancy! What is a girl to do? Braid of course!
I chose to do a standard inside-out braid down the middle of my head. I tied off the end and then wrapped it around itself making a bun and securing it with 5 bobby pins.
Since I was heading to a B-day/pool party I went with a dress and not much jewelry. Plus who needs jewelry when your headband is so sparkly?!
I finished the outfit off with this pair of fuchsia sandals. I'm still not sure how I feel about them, but I got them for $10 and figured I'd give them a try. What do you think?

Pregnancy Chat

Every pregnancy book will tell you, you get a little more clumsy then normal around your 24th week. I remember it from my pregnancy with my son. I expected the normal bumps and bruises from walking into tables, chairs, and the occasional loosing of balance and stumbling around. What has happened to me blows these normal occurrences out of the water!
In the past 2 weeks I have knocked over 6 glasses of milk/juice/water at the dinner table. 6! I feel like a 2 year old!
I keep knocking my wrists into door knobs, my knees and legs have more bruises then ever, and every time I reach above my head to put something away in a cabinet, I fall forward. My clumsiness is EPIC!!!
What is up with this?! I mean, it's the weight in the front of me, so I can understand the stumbling around and the walking into things, but how do you explain my upper body oddities? How is my depth perception off too? Has this ever happened to anyone else out there?
I have to admit, I am clumsy to begin with. Not this clumsy, but the bruise free leg is not something that happens to me very often. Is this adding to it?
Sadly I think it might be time for me to stop riding my bike. ;( Hello third trimester!

Reality TV Night

Dress: Francesca's
Cardigan: Old Navy
Belt: Forever 21
Necklace: Erin Gallagher Jewelry

I love this Francesca's dress not only because I still fit into it, but also because it goes with so many different looks. This time around I paired it with a cardigan that has a button detail on the sleeve and a purple belt. Between the belt and the necklace I got that little pop of color that I was looking for.
This was the perfect outfit to eat delicious food, watch a few reality shows, and laugh with my hubby and Jillian all night in. Nothing is better then that!

Latest Obsession: Vitamin E Face Mist

Face Mist: $16 The Body Shop

I am really enjoying this vitamin E face mist. My mother-in-law turned me onto it and now I can't stop using it! It's a great way to perk you up mid day and really make your skin feel great!

Here is what the bottle says:
Best if you want to: Give your skin an instant pick-me-up with a go-anywhere, rosewater-scented mist that moisturizes, conditions and protects.
How it works:
Vitamin E is a nourishing natural antioxidant that moisturizes and protects against premature aging and environmental aggressors.
Glycerine moisturizes skin to improve softness and maximize hydration.
Liposomes and lecithin help skin to quickly absorb vitamin E and restore skin’s natural moisture balance.

It really is a feel great product that will get you and your skin through the day! I had actually never even been in the body shop before, but now I fear I will be a regular!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Michelle Kuhlemeier. I am totally digging this tunic!

Top: $26 (on sale) $40 reg. price at Kohls

It's too bad my sister wears XS! So much for a closet swap, looks like I'll have to go buy this one! Great find Michelle! So cute!
