Lisa: I'm torn. I really LOVE them on Juliette Lewis! That woman rocks this look out! But I think I love it so much on her because I like this look in accessories. The headbands, the earrings, even the shoes I feel are easy for a lot of people and ages to wear and have it look amazing. Now the skirt and the jacket are a different story. Like fur, these items add bulk. I'm not sure I'd try these. How do you wash them? What happenes if it's raining and they get wet? They just don't seem practicle. But I do think the models above look nice in them. So you see, I'm torn. What do you think? I'm guessing guys are like "what the hell?!" lol

Ryan: Even though she's a crazy Scientologist, those Juliette Lewis pics are hot in that bohemian/free-spirit/Pocahantas kind-of-way. You have to be really fearless to pull this look off confidently though (I would know - I once spent an entire summer rock tour wearing a thin, striped scarf as a pirate headband. I was quite obviously an insane person at the time). But if you CAN pull it off, you're probably crazy hot (as well as totally, utterly CRAZY). Can't say much about the jacket though- I agree with wifey that they're bulky and unflattering. Lastly, I say keep the shoes - they whisper "free spirit" without shouting "I'll eventually key your car and burn your apartment down."

My 32nd B-Day

Jacket: Forever 21
Dress: Charming Charlie
Necklace: Charming Charlie
Ring: Charming Charlie
Purse: Charming Charlie
Shoes: Jessica Simpson

I had an amazing birthday this year! My hubby watched the kiddos and I went out for a sushi lunch and shopping trip with mother-in-law. Who has never been to Charming Charlie? Before this day I had never been either, but now I am in love with this store! The best way to explain it would be it's like Claire's for adults! It has jewelry, scarfs, hats, sun glasses, purses, and a few clothing items. I went nuts!!! I got quite a few new cocktail rings (at $4.97 why wouldn't you buy lots?!), 2 other tops, and a really great hat I can not wait to wear!

After I got home I got dressed in this outfit and me and the hubby went out to dinner and a movie! If you have not seen Unknown yet go see it! It was AMAZING! All and all it was a really great day! Thanks to everyone for all the B-day wishes! I was overwhelmed with the amount of you who emailed, facebooked, tweeted, and texted me! I felt the love! ;)

See, I have been wearing some of the closet swap items! It just so happened that on the above days no one was around to take my picture. I also couldn't find my tripod, and on all days my kids just happen to be out of their minds at the exact time that wanted to take said pictures! Ahhh, the joys of small children! I am still figuring out this super mom/weekly blog writer stuff! lol

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Kristen Javens.

Top: $15 TJ Maxx
Jeans: $10 TJ Maxx

I am a big fan of everything about this look! I love the ruffle detail, the sleeves, and the color of the top! I even love the story of how she was in the dressing room trying on other clothes and this top was already in the room! It was meant to be! I love when that happens! ;) And these jeans are such a great fit and color. LOVE!
Great finds Kristen, you look amazing!

Latest Obsession: House of Harlow

It's my 32nd birthday today! Feels great! So far I am loving my 30's (way better then my 20's) and to kick it off, I have decided to talk about my current obsession. Last minute gifts anyone?! lol
I am obviously a big fan of jewelry, but I've always love the style of Nicole Richie's line. But this year I am really loving everything. Seriously, I want 95% of her designs! And now there are shoes too?! And they sell them at Victoria's Secret where I have a card and get lots of coupons from?! Oh, this just got dangerous! Seriously.

Here are a few of my FAVORITES, hope you enjoy as much as I do!

The sun was shinning bright and I didn't even wear a jacket while I ran errands this day! Okay, it was only 49 degrees out and I probably should have, but I was so excited the snow was melting I had to layer and go! It was casual enough to run around in during the afternoon and also nice enough to have a few friends over for Chinese food!
I was just given this scarf from my mother-in-law and I absolutely love it! I have never been a huge scarf person, but maybe now I might be! I love the easy breeziness of this look!

What guys really think

If you are like me (or most of the women I know) then you dress for other women. I don't think I've ever put on an outfit and said to myself, man, the boys are going to like this one! lol
I wear what I feel pretty in, what I like, and mix that with a few of the current trends. I do ask for my hubby advice when I dress, but when it comes down to it, if I love it and he makes a face, I usually still wear it!
This got me thinking, what do guys think of the clothes we love? What do guys think about the current trends? I asked my hubby if he would write a segment with me about just that! I introduce to you "what guys really think".

Sheer bottom dress
Photobucket
Photobucket

The top one is Dolce and Gabbana and the bottom one is from LuLus. (I have the bottom one in blue!)

Lisa: I LOVE this look. I find myself very drawn to this style! The sheer flowy skirt looks so romantic and beautiful on and I feel that it is the perfect amount of skin showing! Seriously one of my favorite looks right now! Guys like this right?! I'm mean what not to like?!

Ryan: As much as I'd love to disagree with you here babe (for arguments sake of course), I've got to admit I dig this look. It's a subtle, yet redefining interpretation of the classic "little black dress" that all us guys fetishize and drool over. (I realize not all sheer bottom dresses are black, but I'm talking about the above examples.) I mean, look how...relevant it makes Aniston appear in the above pic; it's the kind of look that a wide range of females could pull off in a sexily (I know, not a real word) way, without having to resort to heaving bosoms or (worse) blatant desperation. I approve!

New Beauty Test tube

Photobucket
Photobucket

My second test tube came in the mail late last month. This time around there are way more serums (which I love so that's amazing!). I've just started using these items, so I'll let you know if there are any must buys! Also, please notice the sample of Smashbox photo finish! I wrote a post about how much I love this item so imagine my delight when I saw it in here! Already well worth the $29.95! Is anyone else using this service? What do you guys think? I am such a fan! I get to use new samples of face products every few weeks and these samples are of products that are way more expensive then I would normally spend. My skin has never looked so good!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Amanda Anderson!

Bracelet: $35 Premiere Jewelry

As most girls are, I am totally a sucker for shinny/sparkly things! I was sitting about 4 people away from Amanda when she took this off to show someone. The sparkle caught my eye and I quickly made everyone pass it down to me! What a beautiful bracelet! Has anyone ever heard of Premiere Jewelry before? Why is it that I have not?!
Love this bracelet Amanda, great find!

Hair Videos

I've been getting lots of questions about how I do my hair curly and also how to fishtail braid. Last year I made 2 videos and posted them on You Tube. Here are the links to each one!
Hope this helps! Happy curling and braiding ladies!

In unrelated news, today is my wonderful husbands 32 Birthday! Happy Birthday Ryan! I love you always! xoxo

Blazer: Forever 21
Top: Victoria's Secret
Jean Leggings: Kohls
Boots: Colin Stuart
Purse: Express
Necklace: Erin Gallagher Jewelry
Ring: Vintage
Scarf: Charming Charlie
Hat: Target

We were off to the city to see Rain: A Beatles Tribute this night. I had planned on wearing a dress this day and when the day actually came it was 10 degrees as the high! Since this was a night show and I knew we had to walk a few blocks from dinner to the show, I had to come up with a warmer look! Jeans and boots it is! lol
I was actually wearing big wool socks under these boots! Hey, a girl has to say warm! I paired my jean leggings with a tee and a blazer and wore my amazing staple necklace from Erin Gallagher Jewelry to pull the look together. This look felt rock and roll enough for a Beatles concert, and the red lips and purse just dressed it up the little extra I needed for being at a theater.

Here are a few shots from the night.

My daughter's Baptism

Dress: Target
Blazer: Urban Outfitters
Belt: Mango
Shoes: Forever 21
Necklace and Ring: Tiffany's & CO

My baby had her baptism this past Sunday. It was a beautiful ceremony and we had everyone over to our house after for desserts and coffee. Plus my girl got her first jewelry so all in all it was a great day! (Thanks again God Mother Kaitlyn!)
I decided to wear this frock. Yes, I refer to this dress as my frock. It's a size too large, but I love the color so I decided to do what I could to give it some shape! I added this blazer and belt to do just that!
I went with my push present necklace in honor of my baby's big day! Finally, I finished it off with a side fishtail braid.
Please note the braid is on the side I do not burp my little bean on! lol

Have a great weekend everyone! xo

Closet Inventory

Tieka over at Selective Potential wrote a post this past Sunday about her closet inventory. She listed what she has and said she didn't know how this compared to the average girls closet. This got me thinking, what do I actually have in my closet?! I've never taken an actual inventory before, but I really want to now! I am going to use the same categories that Tieka used. So without further ado, here are my numbers:

Shoes: 36 pair
Dresses: 64 (summer & winter)
Skirts: 9
Shorts: 6
Pants: 5
Tights: 7
Belts: 18
Hats: 2
Purses: 31
Scarves: 5
Tops: 83
Cardigans: 17
Coats/Blazers: 12

Okay, she also did jewelry and lets please keep in mind that I make a lot of my own jewelry so I realize these numbers are high!!!

Necklaces: 48
Rings: 27
Earrings: 31
Bracelets: 32

I also added a few extra categories:
Leggings: 8
Knits: 9
Watches: 3
Staple Necklaces: 5

So that's my inventory! Weird to see I have 83 tops and 5 pairs of pants! lol
Is this a normal amount of items? Too many? Not enough? Okay, I know it's more then enough, but how do my numbers compare to other bloggers out there? Anyone up to the challenge of taking inventory? Thanks again Tieka for such a fun idea!

**Update** Since I wrote this post it has dawned on me how inaccurate these numbers are! I did not count what is in my laundry basket, and I also didn't count the 2 bins of "skinny clothes" that I will again fit into in 13 pounds! ;) So pants, tops, knits, and dresses are higher numbers! YIKES! ;)

I felt so cute in this look. Yes, cute. I don't know, something about wearing tights and clogs felt cute. ;)
Anyway, love all the neutral colors here and I paired them with gold and cream costume jewelry. I've also been curling my hair more lately. What do you guys think? Is curly or strait hair a better look for me?

Top: Target
Cardigan: H&M (hand-me-down from Kaitlyn)
Jeans: Loft
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Headband: Kristin Hassan
Bracelet: Jewelmint
Purse: Target

How amazing is this headband?! They are no longer for sale on Kristin's website, but I'm pretty sure she still has a few more. If you want one, email her at her blog.
I wore my boyfriend style jeans and a basic white t-shirt this day. I threw on the cardigan for a little extra color. Yes, I was cold and totally in need of some sun on my skin, but I just felt a bit springy this day! ;) Also, how great is this bracelet?! I actually got it for free because you (my readers) are amazing and used me as a referral on Jewelmint. Thank you!!! And finally this purse was in the clearance section for $8.98. All and all, I love my outfit! I can't wait to wear this headband with lots of dresses and rompers this summer!
