Little White Dress

One clothing item that I tend to purchase each year is a new LWD. I mean, can you really ever have too many white dresses? I think not! This cute mini was just the thing for a recent family date night out. Yes, I said family date night. Each month, the four of us dress up and go out to dinner. The kids love it and honestly we do too! I hope we are able to keep this up for years to come.

I decided to keep the styling of this dress very simple. I pulled in a few colors by adding a yellow clutch and green wedges. I then finished it off by adding a beautiful gold headband and denim jacket. See, super easy! ;)

Jacket: Pepe Jeans // Dress: Free People // Shoes: c/o Just Fab // Bag: Shoedazzle // Sunglasses: Ditto (use code SADB & get 1st month FREE!) // Watch: Fossil // Headband: Swap w/ Kaitlyn

Are you a LWD collector like myself? What do you wear for nights out to dinner?

Blue Jean Baby

This jumpsuit is everything! I have to admit, it was probably the most unexpected LOVE I found in my recent Trunk Club delivery. I never knew I always wanted to try one of these bad boys on. Now I wish I was at Coachella....I would so be rocking this look head to toe and loving every minute of it! I was defiantly in my retro glory while shooting these photos with Kaitlyn.

From jumpsuits to overalls and shirt dresses to skirts, denim is here in a big way this season. I don't know about you, but I am loving every minute of it! Ok, I could do without the crop wide denim pants, but I'm down with pretty much everything else. I mean the pants on me that is. I am short and boy does that trend not like me! lol But I digress....

By adding a cream heel, the most beautiful cut-out bag, a bold bright lip, and round frames, this outfit was really taking shape. And the the scarf happened. We have to talk about the scarf. This is a look that I am loving right now! Yes, I mean the scarf trend in general, but specifically it's this scarf I can't stop wearing. I not joking, I put it on at one point everyday so far. ;) Is it just me or is it not the cutest accessory ever?

Let's Chat About a Great Service, Shall We?

As a blogger I am gifted many items (or compensated with payment), but what I choose to write about is always up to me. Today we are talking about a service that is free for anyone to try! Let me preface with the fact that I was not given any clothing, money, or discount to write this post. I just really loved this service and wanted to tell you about it. If you choose to try it out too, please use my referral code and get me a discount on my next box! Yes, there will be a next box...it was that good!

I give you Trunk Club. They have services for both men and women and you can choose to have items shipped to you or make an appointment at their Chicago location. I went with the first option.

You create an account (adding you sizing & shipping info) and the stylist will ask you some questions too. When you trunk is ready you can view the entire trunk and take out any items that don't fit your needs, budget, or style. I think I turned down about five with higher price points, told Monica what I was looking for and the Trunk shipped from there. When it arrived it was like Christmas! Everything fit me like a glove, was totally my style, and my only issue was, my budget didn't allow keeping it all! Which leads me to another great thing about Trunk Club, they only charge you for what you keep. Shipping both ways, as well as scheduling a UPS pickup, was on them!

Here is how the package arrived:

Everything was organized by style and beautifully displayed. I was excited to find it wasn't just clothing either. I had shoes, sunglasses, scarfs, belts, and more to choose from!

In the end, I kept four or five items and had so much fun playing dress up with the rest. I plan to highlight some of these looks in the next few outfit posts so keep an eye out this week on the blog. And if you see something you like? Just ask Monica if she can send you one for yourself!

Have you ever tried Trunk Club before? I want my hubby to use it when I do next too!

Let's Stay (Fit) Together, Yeah Yeah Yeah

Couples that workout together, stay together (or something like that). ;)
The hubby and myself have kicked our fitness into high gear these past twelve months. Not only do we go to the gym a few times per week, but we do our own workouts between those (basketball, jogging, yoga, etc. ) and I can't forget to mention our nightly family walks. We both agree that the kids need to have great fitness habits too! All of that along with clean eating and we are well on our way to being our best selves at the ripe age of 37. It's never too early (or late for that matter) to take charge of your life and habits.

Fabletics has this great men's line called FL2. This is my husbands second outfit from them and again, the outfit is not only super stylish, it's also great quality. Plus, he can transition throughout his day in this look as they are just as stylish outside of the gym. I mean, how amazing are those shorts?

(Faux) Leather & Lace

Leather and lace are as classic of a pairing as peanut butter and jelly. They are just meant to be put together. I wore this dress alone last time I styled it, so this time I wanted to mix it up a bit by making it look more like a skirt. By pairing a black crop top over, my lace dress took on an entirely new style and I loved it! I decided to keep it simple by adding a crop (faux) leather jacket over and this amazing cut-out cross body bag. In the end I loved this outfit for a GNO in the city with a few of my favorite Chicago ladies.

Do you ever pair leather and lace? What do you think of the idea of adding a crop top over one of your dresses to mix up the style?

They Call Me Mellow Yellow

I don't own tons of yellow clothing so when Kaitlyn put this top in our latest swap bag, I was super excited to try it out. This flowy frock is a great transition piece for the current weather we are having. I decided to pair it with my favorite high waist denim, floppy hat, and oversized sunglasses. This look was great for my relaxed weekend of lunch out and then to the park with my kids & hubby (with a shoe change of course).

What is your go-to weekend style? Are you a fan of flowy tops paired with high waist denim?
