It's Fri-yay and I am so excited for the weekend to start! We are moving in four days (you can follow along over on Snapchat @StilettosandDB) and it's a bit crazy at my house right now. Who knew selling one property, buying a new construction home, and transferring two kids into a new school district (one with an IEP) would be so difficult? I swear I'm not going to know what to do with myself when it's all over...maybe I'll actually enjoy my summer and go to the pool with my kiddos everyday! A girl can dream! ;) Let's be honest, this blog (and my posts on the Sisters Marie blog), are going to get very home decor and DIY in the coming months/years. I have a big house to fill up and decorate next! I can't wait to share that all with you guys. In the meantime, lets have a few laughs at my most recent outtakes, shall we?

Red, Red, Wine....

I am color crushing on wine right now. I literally can't get enough of it this Spring, and I feel all mixed up as this is usually my go-to Fall color. Why can't it be both? I'm here to tell you that it can be both! ;)

I love everything about this dress! The style is gorgeous yet sophisticated with a little boho twist which makes it a fast favorite of mine for sure. As soon as I saw photos of this dress in my Trunk Club preview, I knew I was going to purchase it. It is unlike any dress I currently own and it just seemed very me! Plus as I pointed out above, wine is my Fall go-to color too so this dress will give me lot of bang for my buck. What's more to love?!

Compassion Connects Us All

Compassion really does connect us all, doesn't it? I teamed up with J.JIll for a collaboration that is all about giving back. This month, J. Jill launched their “Compassion Connects Us All” campaign and they're working with influencers, like myself, to spread the word. Their focus is to raise funds and awareness for women in need. By posting to my blog and social channels using #JJILLCOMPASSION, I am helping them give back to the community.  For every photo tagged, J.Jill will donate $1 to help homeless and disadvantaged women regain their self-sufficiency via the J.Jill Compassion Fund. 

What to help too? Pick up your very own tote bag now! The Compassion Fund Tote, which retails for $29, was created to support the fund’s core mission. 100% of the proceeds will be donated directly to community-based organizations that support women in need with programs that focus on education, job skills and transitional and affordable housing. I was also gifted this gorgeous linen maxi dress which is so perfect for summer. It's light weight, breezy, and so cute for anything from everyday wear, to a night out on the town, or even to my July 4th party at the lake! I love the blue and white stripes, but think I may need to pick it up in the gray color too. I mean, is there such thing as too much of a great thing? ;) I can't wait to style both the dress and the tote bag in the coming months. 

It seemed like the right thing to do to simply add an all white sneaker and a bold lip. You really don't need much to make this outfit cute as the dress is a stunner all by itself! I finished my look off by adding mirror round frame sunglasses.

The Perfect Year Round Trench

How gorgeous is this long military vest? For me it was love at first sight as I began to plot how many ways I would style it throughout the year. The obvious go-to is how I wore it here, as a dress, but how cute would this be layered over denim and a fitted blouse or tee? Only one wear in and I have already worked out how I will wear it the next four times. I will get my money's worth! ;)

The price was another factor when deciding if I would get this dress. It retails for $158, which is an investment piece as far as I am concerned. When I took into consideration how many times I would really wear it, I started to look at the quality. I was happy to find that the  quality of this piece is really amazing. The fabric is thick and the craftsmanship is impeccable. I already have my eye on a few other items from this line at Nordstrom (this dress though!).

Lace & Bell Sleeved & Wine Colored...Oh My!

I have fallen in love with this with romper and I wanted to share it with you guys! The style, the fit, the color...simply beautiful. It was the perfect outfit to wear on my recent date night out with my hubby. I decided it should be the main attraction and paired it with nude strappy heels, neutral bag, and tortoise sunglasses. Are you guys as in love with this romper as I am? 

This date night was a bit different from what we usually do. We chose to head out at 4:00pm for a happy hour of sort. First, we had drinks and an appetizer at one restaurant and headed to the next for more drinks and our entrees. By 8:00pm we were on our way to our third and final stop where we ate the most yummy chocolate chip cookie sundae. I don't think I've ever been that full, but we did span it over four plus hours. Now that's what a happy hour (or restaurant crawl if you will) date night! Such a fun night with my favorite person.
