Leather Weather

It's leather weather! (Or faux leather weather for that matter.) In the Spring we all break out our favorite denim jackets to layer up with for the cool night temps. This time of year, most tend to grab for our leather for layering. As all things I love, I have multiples. I own a faux leather jacket in black, black with a hood, brown, & oxblood. A girl from the Midwest can never have too many jackets after all! 

I loved pairing this LWD with my faux leather jacket and these amazing gray heels. I decided to add this great polka dot scarf to give it more of a Parisian vibe. What's not to love about street style in Paris? In the end, I grabbed an oversize bag, tortoise sunglasses, and put on a bright pink lip. This outfit was so fun to wear!

Remix: Bomber Jacket

I have been wearing this bomber jacket for the past three years now. I have to say, I still love it as much as the day I bought it (although I did believe it was a few years ahead of it's time). Whether I wear it over a more dressed up outfit, or pair it over skinny jeans and a tank, this jacket can easily be taken from day to night. Flare Overalls

I have a mild obsession with overalls in general. It may stem from my childhood when I loved and wore them regularly, but I think it also has something to do with how cute and cozy they are as well. I currently own one pair of boyfriend style, one pair in black, these amazing flared ones, and a cute shorts pair too! See, mild obsession. ;) 

Timeless Fall Fashion

 If I could freeze any season it would have to be this one. The air is crisp, but not cold, the sun still shines daily giving us many coat free hours (sometimes full days), and the colors are to die for. Oh how I love the colors of Fall! The only trees I love as much as these gorgeous Fall ones are palm trees. I guess it good to find happiness in the little things around your home, we can't all travel (or live by) palm trees. ;)

Remix: Leopard Blouse

I have owned this leopard blouse, that I purchased at Piperlime, since 2012. It is just one of those pieces that you can mix and match with so many different outfits and the best part, it continues to be on trend year after year. Which is why this blouse made the cut for this week's remix! Weather I pair it by itself or layer it over a tee or dress, my leopard blouse really does take on a different look each time. Here are my four favorite ways I have styled it in the past few years.

Leather & Lace

Leather and lace is one of those masculine paired with feminine combinations that I just can't get enough of. There is something so chic about mixing these two textiles together (or at least I think so!). I feel like that goes for every girly piece in your wardrobe. They would pair excellently with something edgy. I think I may need to style my tulle skirt with a biker jacket next...but I digress. 

Sweater Weather

It is one of my favorite times of year, cooler but not cold and beautiful Fall colors all around. Also known as sweater weather! This sweater jacket is giving me life. I have only had it for two weeks and have worn it at least 6 times so far. I mean, it pairs with literally anything and doubles as a jacket or a cozy sweater to wear around the house. Why not be stylish and warm all at the same time? 

Fall Wedding Style

I wrote a post last week on my other blog, Sisters Marie about how my go-to for wedding style is Rent the Runway. My husband and I attended two weddings, within seven days from each other, in two different states, so I figured renting amazing dresses was truly the only way to go. Plus, as I mentioned in my other post, wearing designer dresses that I otherwise would not be able to afford is way too fun! 

This blue number was even better in person that it was online. I had lots of eating room and movement for dancing plus it just plain beautiful with the lace overlay! I kept the styling fairly simple by adding nude heels, gold jewelry, and an oxblood bag. In the end, it was the perfect dress for the breathtaking wedding we attended in San Diego this past weekend.

Florals for Fall

Florals are the perfect print for the Spring months, but I have to say, I am loving transitioning these prints right into the Fall. By simply alternating my accessories, this summer maxi takes on an entirely new look! Brown, oxblood, and gold were the perfect pops of color to finish off my Fall florals outfit. 

Effortless Fall Style

There is nothing more effortless (and on point for trend) then pairing a midi dress with OTK boots. Not to mention, how much more effortless can you get then putting on only three items (dress, boots, and jacket)? This look is easy yet it felt so put together as I carried out through my day of school meetings and grocery shopping. 

Remix: Stripe Dress

This bodycon style stripe dress from Old Navy is easily one of my oldest & most worn pieces. I purchased it back in 2012 and for something that was under $30, I sure have gotten my money's worth! From using it as a layering piece, to styling it like it's a top, this dress has shown how versatile it can really be. 

Here are a few ways I have styled this stripe dress over the years. I still own this beauty and it is still in great condition. I say we all need one of these in our wardrobe so I will adding some similar styles at the end of the post for your shopping pleasures! ;)
