Five Favorite Places to Eat: Golden Colorado

We recently spent a long weekend in Golden, Co for a family member's wedding. Since the wedding was on a Saturday, we flew in on Thursday afternoon and stayed until Monday. This left a few days for exploring the local area and trying out all the yummy eats the town has to offer. We did end up going to a grocery store since we stayed at an Airbnb and had a kitchen, so not all meals were eaten out. Every meal we had was better then the last (or as good as which says a lot) and I'm fairly certain if I lived there, I would gain 20 pounds a month! lol Here are my five favorite places to eat in Golden, Colorado.

Woody's Wood Fired Pizza
Woody's Wood Fired Pizza: Woody'd is located on the main street in town, Washington Ave, and on top of prime location, the food was drool worthy. My husband got the pizza and they brought over a bottle of local honey. It is there to drizzle on your crust, because that is what they do there. I have to admit, I love honey and have never thought to put it on pizza crust. Try it you guys, OMG, so good. Do you know what else is good? This Thai bowl I ordered! They had me at brussel sprouts and pulled pork. Plus we had to try some local craft beer, which was also very de-lish.

They have great indoor and outdoor seating and my favorite part was they used bandanas for napkins. I mean, how cute is that? Woody's is defiantly a family friendly place and not one person didn't love their dinner. That is a great review and a great start to our foodie fun in Colorado!

Windy Saddle Cafe

Windy Saddle Cafe: Also on Washington Ave., this is a perfect spot to grab coffee, breakfast, and or lunch. They have indoor and outdoor seating and also a great little kids nook inside and library area so you can relax, read, and drink some coffee. I am such a fan of supporting local, I saw a Starbucks not too many doors down, but opted for this stop. I was so happy we did. Their signature coffees are delish! Mine tasted like iced cinnamon crunch.

Miners Saloon

Miners Saloon: OK, this one was a little difficult to find as you have to go down an alley to get there. The open wall was wonderful so you can sit and dine inside, but still feel like you are outside. We made a quick stop for bloody Mary's, mimosias, and a few appetizers. You guys, I can not say enough good things about Miners Saloon. So delicious, such cool decor, such a great experience!

Golden Sweets
Cherry Ice Cream Cone

Golden Sweets: In need of a mid-day treat, head over to Golden Sweets! After walking around town all morning, and exploring down by the water, we found our way to get some ice cream and cool off. Golden Sweets has candy, chocolates, ice-cream, and so much more. I opted for a cherry ice cream cone and it hit the spot for sure. Again, all six of us loved what we choose. No bad decisions here folks!

Bob's Atomic Burger

Bob's Atomic Burger: OK, we had to go here. We did do some research on Golden before we left and found this youtube video on Bob's Atomic Burger. Needless to say, we made a 2pm run for milk shakes, burgers, and fries and it was well worth the trip and the time we waited. Everything is made to order, so we did spend about 25 minutes in line and 15-20 minutes waiting for our food. I'm not sure if this was a busy time or if that's normal, but we were happy to wait. Spoiler alert..totally worth it! Such a fun stop, the kids loved this one the most!
