Entertainment Cruises

Hey friends. Have I got an exciting recap and coupon code for you today! I recently partnered with Entertainment Cruises, which is the largest dining and site-seeing cruise company in North America. They operate in 8 cities across North America; Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, New York City, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Toronto. These cruises are perfect for special occasions like a birthday, anniversary or significant milestone! Use code LISA10 to recive 10% off your tickets!

Since I live near Chicago, I was able to ride on the new Odyssey Chicago River. You guys, this is a custom-built boat with a glass top to show off the iconic riverfront architecture. After seeing a few photos online and also seeing the menu, I knew this was going to be one very fun night! Odyssey Chicago River is the first dining cruise that operates year-round on the Chicago River. It really is an experience like no other. I decided a GNO was just the occasion to celebrate aboard this boat. Fine dining, river views, and a dj for dancing the night away? Yes please! OK, let me tell you a bit about our night.

I was given complementary tickets for myself and three friends, so we decided to meet at the ticket counter at boarding time. First off, the location to get on the boat is super easy to get to. Once our group was together, we were ready to walk down the ramp and onto the boat where we were greeted by staff. You show them your ticket, and you are escorted to your table for the night. A standard cruise ticket includes your dining experience, onboard entertainment, and breathtaking views! You also have the option to upgrade your appetizer, entree, and drinks for the night. We walked to our seats to find the most beautiful table set up with the cutest festive Christmas cookies for us to enjoy. It's all in the details and special touches!

When your first sit down, your waitress for the night comes over and says hello, takes your drink order, and asks that your choose your dinner selections. You guys, there are literally no wrong choices because everything on this boat is so darn yummy! I ended up ordering the Lobster Cream Soup, Oven Baked Atlantic Salmon Filet, and a glass of champagne. At this point I got up and walked around a bit to take a few photos, but also because everything was so beautiful and I wanted to see every part of this experience. The four of us headed outside in the front of the boat to take a group photo. I think it was this moment that it hit me we were going to be on a moving boat for the next 2.5 hours....and I couldn't have been more excited about it! Before we knew it, our soup was served and off we went.

Cruise aside, the food served this night is reason alone to book this experience. I kid you not, my plate looked as though it had been licked clean after each course. The soup was delicious and the flavor profile was exceptional. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the flavor with the sun dried tomatoes was spot on. And then the dessert table was brought out. Swoon! So many yummy treats to choose from. I'll take a little bit of each, thank you very much.

All though the meal, conversation would stop because we would all start to look around and be in awe of the view. We did have a night cruise, but I found myself starring up so many times and seeing gorgeous holiday lights and beautiful architecture right above my head. It truly was an experience like no other!

Once dinner was done, the drinks were flowing and the DJ turned his music up a bit. I don't remember if it was Bruno Mars or Michael Jackson, but this girl was up and ready to dance! This might have been my favorite part of the night. Gorgeous city views literally everywhere and anywhere you look, music playing, drinks flowing, and lots of dancing! Seriously the perfect place for any celebration or party.

Before we knew it, we were back at the dock. I wanted this night to last longer and I would 100% go on this boat again! Maybe next time a day ride. That said, there was something truly magical about a night cruise in Chicago during December with all of the Christmas lights up. I want to thank my friends Gwen, Jillian, and Lindsay, who are all mothers of younger children, but were able to sneak away for a few hours this night. I also want to say a giant thank you to Odyssey Chicago River for allowing us to be guests aboard this beautiful boat. What a wonderful night it really was!
