A Self-Care Galentine's Day in Downtown Naperville (+ an Ultimate Giveaway!)

(Jenin of Planning for Paradise, Annie of Manolos and Minivans, and myself)

In honor of Valentine's Day myself and two other fashion & lifestyle bloggers headed to Naperville for a self-care inspired Galentine's Day. I hope you checked out our IG takeover of the Downtown Naperville Instagram account this past Tuesday. If not, no worries. It's all on the highlights section on their IG account.

Self-care is so important and making time to get away from the stresses of life and relax is often needed. Naperville has everything you need for the perfect me-day for you and your girlfriends to relax and unwind. We spent the morning getting pampered at Me Spa, Drybar, and MAC. Then we stopped into Quiubo for the most delicious lunch. Here's the details:
ME SPA

This was my first visit to Me Spa and it will for sure not be my last! After checking in, you are taken to the changing rooms to put on your robe and slippers. Next, you go to the room where you wait for your services and once seated, we were offered tea and water. Before I knew what was happening, a large silver bowl was brought over for a relaxing foot bath and a warm neck pillow was put around my neck. I mean...I had just arrived and I already was feeling pampered and relaxed. I received a 30 minute advanced corrective facial and you guys, it was wonderful! I've never had a shorter length facial and truly it was just a great! Not only did my skin look beautiful and dewy and plump after, but it was extremely relaxing. I love having my shoulders, neck, and face massaged and this facial included all of those things plus jade stones used for lymphatic drainage. My experience was fantastic!

You can check out the amazing Valentine's Day packages Me Spa is offering on their website.

DRYBAR

This was my first time at Drybar in years and I loved the entire experience. Once we checked in and got seated, we were offered drinks (I went with coffee, but you can BYOB if you want a mimosa!) and we were asked to look at the hair menu to choose a style. I decided I wanted to try The Old Fashioned (retro waves) plus I added a side braid. Next up, we headed to the washing sinks. I don't know about you, but I love a good head scratching and having your hair washed is a luxury I don't treat myself to nearly enough. Before you know it your hair is twisted into the cutest wet bun and you head back to your seat. And then, you just sit back and chat with your friends or just watch the movie that is on the screen while your hair is blowdried and styled. The Devil Wears Prada was on and I kept getting drawn in. I am a sucker for a good chick flick! ;) In the end, I walked out the the most beautiful hair! I used dry shampoo with minimal touch-ups and my hair was good-to-go (side braid and all) for two full days after that.

Make sure you book a blowout on February 14th at the Naperville Drybar and enjoy their Valentine's Day party! They will have different vendors coming in thought the day to add to the fun. Chocolate masks, red mimosas, and blowouts are only $25! A giant thank you to the manager Kari for taking such great care of us. I can't wait to go back and get another blowout and style.

MAC

Next up, we stopped at MAC Cosmetics for a makeup application. I love getting my makeup done at MAC because it's like getting a makeup lesson along with your application. My makeup artist, Amy was extremely knowledgeable and even gave me a few tips for my eye makeup at home. Thank you! We decided to for more of a natural look using earth tones for shadows but we gave it a little drama with the eyeliner and red lip gloss. In the end I was very happy with how it turned out.

Also, did you know MAC in Naperville does sip & paint parties? As in wine and makeup! Umm...love love love! What a fun way to have a girls night or all just get ready together before you go out for the night. You can call them and ask any questions you may have about that.

QUIUBO

For our last stop, we headed to lunch at Quiubo and you guys, this place is outstanding. We started off with chips with three kinds of salsa with bean dip and quickly ordered lots of tacos. I went with the pescado (or fish) tacos and also got a side of rice. The rice was filled with peppers and cheese and was beyond delicious. I have had dreams about that rice since! ;) The tacos were toped with tomato, cilantro, mango aioli, and pickled red onion making them so yummy you want to lick your fingers. Take away the fact that the food was fresh and delicious and you are left with the most beautiful decor! I loved all the plants around us and the beautiful colors in the art and furniture selections. Plus with all the natural light, it's just the kind of place you feel happy at. I will absolutely be going back to Quiubo with my family soon!
