Latest Obsession: Hair Doughnut
Ever since the Sex and the City 2 premier I have been seeing LOTS of great buns in magazines. Everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker to Amanda Seyfried to Jessica Alba have been spotted wearing these high thick buns. I wanted to get in on this! I did some online research and came across the hair doughnut. I bought mine on Amazon for $3.99 for the 3 inch and $7.99 for the 3 and 1/2 inch. They come in blond, brown, red, and black.
I only wash my hair every third (sometimes forth) day so this is a great look for day 2 or 3! It's super easy and takes about 20 minutes to complete.
1) put your hair in a high ponytail and secure with a normal hair tie
2) slide the hair doughnut over the hair tie
3) using hair pins, secure hair over the hair doughnut leaving the remainder of your hair hanging out. (Do this all the way around the doughnut)
4) wrap the remainder of the hair around the bun.
This time I just wrapped it and secured it with bobby pins. The second time I did my bun I twisted the the hair making a really cool design. I think next time I'm going to try little braids! Get creative ladies!

We used to carry these at Claire's. I see a resurgence coming along!
LOVE the bun!! i def. have to get one!
They are amazing! I have 2 and love them both! Not to mention how helpful they are on these super humid days!!
I know this is an old post, but I just had to comment. I'm giggling over here remembering my Army days when a TON of girls with long hair used these. We had very strict hair standards, especially during training, so this "donut" concept was perfect. HOWEVER, I don't think this particular item actually existed, so people would take a black, brown, or beige (dep. on hair color, of course) DRESS SOCK, cut the foot off, slide it onto their arm or something, and roll it down. It rolls into a perfect donut shape!
That is brilliant!!!! I would have never thought to use a sock!!!!!
