Me day...

Cardigan: Express
Top: Urban Outfitters
Under shirt: Target
Jeans: Express
Boots: Jessica Simpson
Necklace: Marie Marie Jewelry (multi strand tied behind neck)

I decided to get my hair and nails done this day so I needed a cozy outfit since I'd be sitting a lot. I went with my over the knee brown boots because they are good in the snow (plus they're super cute!). I paired them with my jean leggings and layered up the tops. I took my multi strand necklace (which can be tied at may different lengths) and made it into a choker to tie this look together!

She bangs! She bangs!

I can't get that song out of my head, which is weird because i haven't heard it in years! ;) Anyway, I did it! I cut my bangs after 18 months of growing them out! I finally took my hubby's advice and let me just say, he likes the new look!
It was terrifying! I found myself in the waiting area at Mario Tricoci staring at any and all women who had bangs. I would see a girl with awful bangs and think, oh man, mine might look like that! Then a girl with a great bang would walk by and I'd be all, well maybe mine will look like hers! I think I like them. It's going to take me a few days to get used to them.
I like that it's a longer bang, but I'll probably have to go gets trims every couple of weeks. Thankfully at Mario you can come in for a free bang trim as often as needed! SOLID!

How to get my curly hair look...

This is how I get my curly hair look. All pictures you have see of me with curly or wavy hair on this blog have been achieved this way!

What you need:
Small curling iron
hair spray
clip
about 45 mins (may very depending on hair thickness and legnth)

1. Choose where your part will be. I always go for center.
2. Using your 2 pointer fingers as a comb, take all hair from above your ears all the way around back and using the clip tie it above your head. This will leave you with the first layer to curl.
3. Spray with hair spray (hair left down) top and bottom
4. Pull hair forward so all of your hair in infront of your sholders. Using the curling iron, curl away from your face on both sides.
5. Repeat on the next 3 sections (shown on video)
6. When all curls are complete, flip head over and spray for 5-10 seconds!
7. Enjoy your hair today and tomorrow!!! ;)

I hope this helps! Let me know if it works for you!!!

Dinner with the family

Top: Express
Sweater: Express
Jeans: Express
Shoes: Forever 21 (gray booties)
Earrings: self made (you can find real ones at www.egjewelry.com)

For a causal Sunday dinner at my moms I put together this outfit. I honestly laughed when I realized I looked like an walking advertisement for Express! I love how this sweater is longer in the front then it is in the back. With a looser and longer shirt, it looks great with leggings too! I needed a simple earring because of the detail on the tank, so I went with a pearl. You can never go wrong with pearls!!

Christmas Eve in January

Top: Target
Skirt: Urban outfitters
Tights: Urban outfitters
Shoes: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Ring: Macy's

The Fergus family finally had our Christmas Eve this past Friday. I decided to wear what I wore on Christmas Eve the first time around. I love my stripped turtle neck from Target. It looks just as great with jeans and flats! I paired it with my go to black skirt and some fun jewelry. This ring is not a Judith Jack (although it really looks like one). I found it at Macy's at one of the jewelry counters and it was only $35! I am a fan (of course) of real jewelry, but I love my costume jewelry just as much!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Kaitlyn Fergus. Let's be honest, the entire outfit is great, but I fell in love with her jeans, top, and necklace!

Jeans: $69.50 Gap
Shirt: $12.95 H&M
Necklace: $4.80 Forever 21

I will be taking a trip to the Gap this week! I've never tried on their 1969 line, but I've always wanted to! Ever since my jean leggings obsession has been in full effect I hate all my jeans! I put a pair on and think to myself, jean leggings would look so much better with this outfit! haa So maybe it's time for a good pair of jeans!

Baby Shower Luncheon

Sweater: Express
Necklace: MarieMarieJewelry.com (Fringe Necklace)
Pants: Target
Boots: Venus.com (2 years ago)

I wore this outfit to a baby shower luncheon I went to this past weekend. I was with out the little man for a few hours so it was nice to wear a sweater and not have to keep readjusting! The sweater was a Christmas gift last year, and I have worn it at my current weight and also at 30 pounds heaver (I was still loosing baby weight). It always fits! Love that!
I don't know about you, but I love me a comfortable pair shoes! I've made it my personal job to find high heeled shoes that you can walk miles in. ;) Don't get me wrong, I own plenty of painfully beautiful shoes, I just get very excited when I am already in love with them and then they surprise me! These boots are my go to when I'll be on my feet all day and I want a little heel!

Off to the mall

Top: Target
Under shirt: Fruit of the loom men's tank
Necklace: Self made charm necklace
Pants: Express
Boots: Jessica Simpson

I had so much fun walking around my outdoor mall in this outfit. The shoes made me trot a bit (no pun intended even though they are horse ridding styled boots). I could walk miles in them and my feet would still be cozy! I threw them on over my favorite new jean leggings and a sweater from Target and off I went! Sometimes your best style happens when your little one is yelling and you're in a big rush to get out the door! ;)

This Weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Michelle Kuhlemeier (my sister). What we have here is a Lisa trifecta! I want her purse, her necklace, and those shoes!

Purse: $110 Creatively Yours (purse party company)
Necklace: $10 Target
Shoes: $29 Maurices

To be honest, I've never shopped at Maurices. Shame on me apparently! I might have to do some research...... ;)

Shoe Dazzle

I heard about shoedazzle.com in December on one of my favorite gossip sites (Kim Kardashian is one of the celebrity stylists). Shoe Dazzle is this wonderful website that sends you a pair of shoes each month. It's $39.95 per pair and there are no shipping charges!! You answer these questions about your style, and their stylists send you back your shoe choices within 48 hours . You get new shoe choices on the 1st of every month. If you don't like any of the five pairs they have chosen for you, you can ask for new choices. If you don't want a pair every month, you just need to login between the 1st and the 5th of the month and say "skip this month"! It's amazing!!! So far I have received 2 pairs and I am in LOVE with both! The packaging is adorable (each with their own shoe bag and box). It's obviously not something that I will be able to do all 12 months, but it gave me good incentive to go through all my shoes and get rid of everything I haven't worn in the past few years. I ended up getting rid of 9 pairs, so now I have lots of room for new pretty shoes!!! If you click on the blog title above, it will take you strait to their web page. Happy shopping ladies!

Dinner with my boys

Top: Victoria Secret
Pants: Express (Jean leggings.....LOVE THEM!)
shoes: Shoedazzle
Necklace: www.mariemariejewelry.com
Bracelet: Express
Jacket: Forever 21

Tonight I went out to dinner with my two boys. I went with the jean leggings (which I'm obsessed with) for a few reasons. Here's the thing, I really love food! And any pant/legging that has an elastic waste band when you are going to dinner at P.F. Changs is a good thing. On the flip side of that, they are tight on the leg and when paired with a longer top, you can do no wrong. For the necklace I went with Marie Marie Jewelry! I'm wearing the 3 clasp necklace (which can be worn 5 different ways) and you'll find this one to be a repeat offender here on my blog. I go through phases and I'm full blown in my Marie Marie Jewelry period! ;)
Oh, and that's my son. I chose to blur out his face for some privacy. Hey, I'm the star of this blog, not that super cutie! ;)

Bangs: To cut or not to cut, that is the question...

My husband loves me with bangs. Every time I grow my hair out, I must give him an estimated time guess of when I will be cutting my bangs again. haa So for the past year and a half I have been growing them out. They are finally at the point were they look like one of the the layers in my hair. Something about winter though makes me want to cut my bangs again. I need a pros and cons list!
Pros:
I love bangs
my hubby loves bangs
They're alway in style
Pony tails look better ;)

Cons:
They take FOREVER to grow out!
you have to wash them daily (I wash my hair every third day)
good bye Farrah Fawcett hair style
good bye pony tail that needs no bobby pins to hold short hairs in the band

What's a girl to do? Advice please! If I don't do it now, I'll probably wait until next winter. hmmmmm

Vegas Baby Day 3

Blazer: Urban Outfitters
Dress: lulus.com
Tights: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Forever 21 (same as Vegas day 1 and 2)
Bracelet: Express

This dress gave me a new persona! I put it on and all I heard was "bow chick-a bow wow" as I'd walked! I love clothes like that! It was our third day in Vegas, I had eaten my weight in food and drank enough for 2 people and still I felt sexy! Move over little black dress....you've got some competition for my go to dress! ;)
By the way, isn't my hubby so handsome?!?! Yeah, I'm a lucky girl! This was the perfect way to celebrate our two year Anniversary. Vegas, baby!

Vegas Baby Day 2

Top: Urban Outfitters
Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Tights: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Forver 21 (same as Vegas day 1)
Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelet: Express

I love my high waisted skirt! I wear it with anything and everything (and come on, it's a black skirt...what doesn't it go with?!) I am also in love with the back on this top! Made me feel sexy and I was still able to wear a strapless bra and not have it showing the whole night.

Vegas Baby Day 1

Blazer: Urban Outfitters
Dress: Express
Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelet: Express
Tights: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Forever 21

This was a great outfit to go to dinner in and then ditch the blazer and dance the night away. It was my first time wearing the shoes, which is always a gamble when spending a long time on your feet (but hey, we were in Vegas).
The great thing about Forever 21 shoes is that they are not only economical, but surprisingly comfortable!

January 10, 2010

So why a blog?

I am a 30 year old stay-at-home mom who makes jewelry part time and LOVES fashion! I love everything about it! Clothes, shoes, jewelry, make up, and the perfect hair style that ties it all together. I read many "what I wore" blogs where girls post pictures of their outfits and tell you where they are from and I always think, hey, I could do that! I've got good taste (as far as I know anyway).
I plan on posting lots of pictures, giving hair tips, shopping tips, and all the other nonsense that is all stored up in my head!
