Over the weekend I attended my mother-in-laws b-day party (Lake House Lyn) at Kaitlyn's new home. The house is gorgeous, the party was wonderful complete with signature drinks, and the b-day girl for sure had a great time.

I'm not sure how, but I am going to try to persuade Kaitlyn to sell me this top. I am in love with it and am having a hard time placing it back in the Friendswap bag. ;)





Outfit: The Dressed up Sweatshirt

There is nothing more cozy then a sweatshirt, there is also nothing more "stay-at-home-mom" then a sweatshirt! lol
Here is how I jazzed up my everyday look:

The beading on the shoulders helps to not make this top the standard sweatsuit wear. I decided to pair it with a bold colored flat, cute scarf, fishtail braid (tutorial here), fringe bag, and one of my new favorite charm bracelets (you must check out Novobeads).

Outfit: Family Photo Shoot

Over the weekend we had family portraits taken.

My aunt bid on an item for my children at a Wings charity event last year and the basket had a gift certificate for a family photo shoot. It was about to expire so we had to throw outfits together in 2 days. I went to Target and found these cute clothes for the kids:

I didn't want to be too matchy matchy but I did want to look cohesive. My hubby ended up wearing gray slacks and a white shirt and here is what I wore:

Is it weird that we all got dressed to match my daughters dress? It was the first item I feel in love with so I decided we should all wear blues hues, white, gray, and yellow.

Get Fest Ready Fashion Show

I had the honor of attending the Get Fest Ready show at Bloomigdales in Chicago on Thursday night. The entire show was styled by Jacqueline Rezak (yes celebrity stylist and Rad and Refined owner...last post seen here).

Here is what I wore to the show:

The set up was beautiful and there was a DJ, free makeup touch ups by MAC, free hair touch ups done by Red Door Spa, and drinks to enjoy while we waited for the show to start.

The music was amazing and I found myself singing while the show was going on...that's what you get for playing "Dancing on my own" by Robyn! ;)

I would wear all of these outfits! They are perfect for SXSW, Coachella, Lollapalooza, or any other spring/summer festival this year.

To be honest, looks 3, 9, 10, and 12 I would wear as everyday wear!

I loved all the house of harlow jewelry and that leather vest in the last look I am drooling over!

I think Jacqueline was dead on. You would make heads turn in any of these looks for sure. I feel like they all have a bit of edgy swagger to them and that's always a plus to feel great in what you are wearing.

I found this top in the latest FriendSwap bag from Kaitlyn and I was super excited.

We had swapped the same top (in pink) back in October and I loved it so much, it was hard to give it back. I'm glad she has it in many colors and is willing to share. ;)

7 For all Mankind Denim- Worth the price?

YES!

I own 2 pair of Jiselle style 7 for all mankind jeans. I was hesitant at first to purchase because of the price. Can a pair of jeans really cost this much and be worth it?

So my quest began... I started with a black pair (purchased 13 months ago). Here is how I have styled my black jeans over the past year:

A year later and they are still going strong. They still fit perfectly and don't look worn out.

Since I loved my black pair so much, I purchased the blue version (Jiselle style 7 for all Mankind) 9 months ago. I have worn these many times on the blog:

I dry clean both pair to keep them in great shape.
I can wear them 2 or 3 times without washing because they do NOT stretch out in the knees or butt nor to they stretch out throughout the day.
They are just as snug now as they were when I got them in early June last year.

I would say if you are going to splurge on denim, 7 for all Mankind is well worth the money.

So honored to be in such an amazing magazine. I am waiting for my hard copy to come in the mail and I will for sure be framing it and hanging it in my office.

Never thought my mommy blogging would bring me this far in three years, it's kind of surreal. See, 34 year old mothers can be in fashion magazines too! ;)
