Cat Scratch Fever

I love this leopard beanie. I found it in my most recent swap bag from Kaitlyn and got super excited. It was a bit big on me so my only solution was to tip it back, and fold it under a bunch in the back. Having said that, I really like how it looked when I figured out how to make it fit my small head! 

I love the combination of leopard print with camo print. See I'm stuck print mixing daily and I can't stop (I mean, do I really want to stop?). To pull the prints together I wore a solid black knit, gray crop boots,  a berry bag, and my camel wool trench. Obviously I wouldn't be me if I didn't add a super bright lip too!

Cooking with your Kids

Both of my kids are very into playing with their play kitchen and play supermarket. They love pretending to cook for us and each other , but they also love helping me cook in the real kitchen. To top it all off my son watches the cooking channel literally every day. Knowing this, my mother-in-law (and fellow blogger) got my kids a year of Kidstir. Each month we get a new box, each with its own theme and then me and the kids cook & bake together! This month we got the "Snack Happy Kit". We actually made all three snacks, the these Honey Bear Bars were so good, I wanted to share it with you!

You get a binder in your first delivery and each month you get pages to add to your cookbook.

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
1 ounces honey bear (their gift in this package)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 quick oats (can sub with gluten free)
1/2 cup chocolate chips (we used dairy free chips)


Directions:
1) Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add brown sugar, honey, and vanilla extract.
2) Whisk away! Keep whisking until the sugar dissolves, or turns into liquid. Turn off the heat.
3) Pour the oats into the pot. Stir it all up with a spatula of wooden spoon. Make sure you stir well for at least 3 minutes so it's all combined.
4) Spread into buttered 8x8 inch pan with a spatula or spoon. Press chocolate chips on top.
5) Refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
6) Cut bars to size you want.



My kids (and myself) had so much fun making these and they were super yummy to boot! We actually packed them up and shared them with our extended family to show "Gaga & Papa" how good we did. The kids were so proud!

Berry Bag, Berry Shoes, Berry Happy!

I am seriously loving my new berry bag and wedges. In the spirit of all the print mixing I have been styling lately, I decided to pair my striped turtleneck with a plaid scarf. Even though it looks cold (I mean there is snow on the ground) it was in the low 40's this day. I say that feels like summer after the crazy polar vortex we just went through. 

To keep my look simple for a day of running around town I added a wool hat, a great ring, and I was off! I did end up wearing a coat over this outfit, but I didn't wear it in the photos on pure principle. In my mind, it was warm out and I didn't need a coat. ;)

Layering on my Prints

Winter weather calls for layers, so why not make those layers all different prints? In the past print mixing seemed overwhelming to me or even something I was a little scared of. I mean, when you hear print mixing you think bold colors and mismatching but that doesn't have to be the way you do it! 

I knew I wanted to wear this anchor print sweater but I wanted to wear it differently then I did last time. By adding a blue polka dot blouse under and a emerald plaid scarf over, I love how the outfit turned out. The color pallet is still neutral as far as I'm concerned and the print mixing feels more safe to me when I keep it in the same color hues.  

To dress it up a bit I added a beautiful berry colored bag, winter white coat, and my favorite riding boots. Layers and layers of prints never felt so easy!

Toddler Fashion: I Heart You

How adorable is this heart dress? It was a no brainier when we saw it in the January FabKids look book as my bean loves two things, 1) hearts & 2) the color pink.

She rocked this look to a special afternoon at her grandparents house. When I was younger we use to get dressed nice to see our grandparents, so I thought why not doll the kids up just because? Saturday funday! ;) 

I love that when you shop at FabKids you get the complete look. It's takes all the styling timely chat out of the mix ("Do you want to wear tights today?" "What color leggings do you feel like wearing babe?") and your kids just get dressed. To finish her look off she wanted two braids, a flower bow, and white "pretty girl shoes". You got it mini me, I'm on it.

I Love all Hues of Blue, Boho Style

I am in love with wearing the color blue. I am even more in love with wearing lots of shades of blue all at the same time! Enter, my boho hues of blue style.

I kept it super simple in a Canadian tuxedo then added personal touches to make the outfit more me. My favorite blue hat, great accessories (complete with blue accents), my healing beads, a chunky infinity scarf, and a great bag to boot!

A Non-Toxic Way to Clean your Hunter Boots

I don't know about you, but my Hunter boots get roughed up a bit during the winter months. Yes, I wear them in the rain, but I wear them even more in the snow which leads to salt stains and a weird foggy color overlay.
After my second season of rocking these bad boys I decided I needed to find an easy non-toxic way to clean these puppies.

Here is what you will need:
-1/2 cup vinegar (I used organic apple cider, but you can use white vinegar too!)
-1/2 cup water
-Paper towel or rag to wipe boots with

As you can see below, my boots are crazy dirty. Using a paper towel, I soaked it in the mixture and began wiping my boots down.

The finished product:

As you can see, this mixture works super well. I could have flipped them upside-down and dipped the tops in the water and vinegar, but I didn't really notice the tops were still dirty until I saw these photos!  Next time. ;)

Happy 7 year Anniversary Mr. Fergus

Over the weekend me and my husband celebrated our 7 year anniversary. Since we got married on our 3 year dating anniversary, this past weekend was really the celebration of the past decade.
We started the night at Cooper's Hawk and ended up staying there for almost three hours! We ate so much yummy food, but mostly we just hung out and talked.

I decided to wear this beautiful number as the last time I wore it, my husband was not with me. I kept the styling simple by adding a tank dress under for length, tights, platform heels, and some amazing gold jewelry.

Ryan looked so handsome and also wore an outfit I didn't get to see him in, his NYE outfit from this year. I just love when this man wears a tie! Especially when he wears colored ones, like this emerald number.

We ended up having an amazing night out! After all, you should celebrate being together no matter how long it has been. We value our marriage and it's not all a cake walk, you have to work on it, but at the end of the day there is no man on this Earth I would rather work on it with then Ryan. I love you baby, happy anniversary!
