Spring Break Recap: Day One & Two

This past spring break was one I will not soon forget! My mom planned a trip for all of us, with a day or two in New Orleans before getting on a cruise ship for a week. This vacation was for my entire family (yes, all twenty-two of us!), and I do not know how that amazing woman put up with all of our requests, conditions, and mood swings! ;) No, but seriously, we did not make it easy for her so I am so grateful that she pulled such a wonderful trip together! I am one of five children and at this point most of us are married and have kids. Out of respect and privacy for my extended family, I am just posting photos of my kids and husband on my blog. Here are some of my favorite shots from the first two days. Unlike six of my family members, we opted to say in New Orleans for only one night prior to the cruise. We stayed at The Westin in New Orleans and it was beyond beautiful. The location was perfect and the views were even better. We flew in at 10:30am, so as soon as we dropped off our bags, we headed out to grab coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde, plus we had to check out the river walk.

Day One:

Dress: c/o J.Jill // Bag: Box of Style

That night, we all went out to dinner and sat outside on the second floor overlooking the French Quarter. It was so fun to people watch and eat some amazing spicy food! My kids loved hanging out with their cousins and being outside at night with no coats on in March! It's the little things, you know? On the walk back to the hotel, we did some shopping and it truly was a really fun night. I just love New Orleans!

Day Two:
Top, Shorts, & Hat: Traget // Shoes: Gap (similar) // Bag: Box of Style

We spent the morning in looking out at the river and watching all the big ships go by. After a wonderful breakfast at the hotel, it was time to head over to the cruise ship. Again, my mom for the win by getting us all "faster to the fun" which essentially got us boarded so fast, literally skipping most lines... it was amazing. We were on the Carnival Triumph and had a balcony suite. Man was that balcony room ideal. No better way to wake up, then to enjoy your coffee outdoors while looking out over the ocean. It was also perfect at night after the kids went to sleep to look out at the stars. The stars in the middle of the ocean are so bright!

My family at dinner together every night on two tables of 11. We were right at the back of the ship so the views were almost as amazing as the food. Oh, the food you guys! Between the three course meals nightly, having a Guys Burger Bars on board was beyond. I will say, we ate more this trip then we generally do in any other given week!

OK, so two of six days down. Stop by tomorrow for more photos from our spring break!
