My Style Monday: Sustainable Fashion

Ever since I completed the Konmari Method in my home, I am unable to shop like I used to. Here's the thing. Each time I want to buy something I really think about it. Will I wear this item for years to come? Do I love how I feel in it? Does it make me happy? Am I buying it because I need this in my wardrobe or am I just impulse shopping? All good questions, but all new to me.

Here's the thing, there are about two times a year where all four of us (my hubby, myself, and our two kids) get $250 to shop each. Instead of filling up on random things like I have in years past, I find myself getting one-two item(s) with that budget and finding clothing that is sustainably made and/or ECO friendly. This dress is made from LENZING™ ECOVERO™ a consciously created fiber making the production of the dress eco-responsible.

Now that I've talked about the way this dress was made, can we discuss how beautiful and truly twirl worthy it is? I dare you not to spin around like a kid in it! I mean, I can't. ;) My first time wearing it was to a dinner in Cabo and I felt beautiful in it even though it was our last day there and everything was bloated on me. Obviously that had nothing to do with the daily margaritas and five meals a day! But I digress... Any dress that can make you feel great about yourself regardless of how your body is felling is a total win in my book!

I love that this dress can be dressed up or down and I have already worn it again since. I truly feel like if you fill your closet with items that you will continually grab and wear year after year plus items that are sustainably made or ones made from recycled material, you will love getting dressed. Not to mention you'll be doing a small part to help the environment too. In the end, it is possible to do a little bit of both!

I know I posted about these shoes last time too, but they are just that good. These slide-on's are the perfect color and they are truly so comfortable. They are super cute when styled with jeans and a tee and I love adding them as a pop of color to my summer dresses as well. Grab yours before they sell out!

Do you shop sustainable, eco-conscious/responsible, or recycled fashion? Would you like me to do a post of places to find great pieces like that?

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you make it a great day! xoxo
