Kitchen, To demo or not to demo? That is the question....

This is the question my husband and I have been going back and forth on for the past few months. Our decision? To demo!! Our house was build in the 50's and other then a hardwood floor being put in, updated light fixtures, and a new sink, it has not been touched. I mean, I still have the original oven! Lets just say, it's small and weird! ;) We have decided to get all new appliances, cabinets, add an island, take down a wall, and move a closet to the other side of the front door. This will open up our entire first floor! I am very excited!! We are doing it on the cheap as far as kitchens go. Ikea has this amazing sale that ends May 2nd. You get 20% off your entire kitchen sale when you buy your appliances there too! We have already had a company come out and design what it will look like. Next step, buy the kitchen in time to get the sale price! So today I am off to buy a kitchen!
I will make sure to take lots of pictures and keep you posted on my progress. The demoing begins late May. Ahhhh!

Revamping Silver Jewelry

I recently went through all my old costume jewelry and decided most of the pieces needed a face lift! All my old silver bangles were copper or dark looking, so were a lot of my earrings and necklaces. I'm talking both Sterling silver and fake silver people! I used Revitalizing Silver Jewelry Cleaner on everything. I poured a small amount into the lid and dipped or rolled all pieces through the solution. Next, I quickly rinsed it through warm water and laid in on some paper towel to dry. Everything is silver again!!! Even the fake stuff looks brand new! It's been a few years since I've done this last, but I plan on making this a yearly routine!

Date Night

Dress: Express
Shoes: Shoe Dazzle
Ring: Judith Jack (gift)
Necklace: Gift

I love date nights! We were off for dinner and a movie this night and since done of my clothes fit well, dresses are my new uniform! I've never been pregnant in the summer time before, but I am learning that you can stay away from maternity clothes if you wear summer dresses everyday! Okay, I don't have enough dresses to wear new ones everyday, but I do have a lot! And that means less shopping for new clothes in bigger sizes! Love that! I bought this dress last summer at Express. I call it my Mrs. Roper dress (I'm a Three's Company fan!). I decided to pair it with my nude/light brown Shoe Dazzle sandals and some fun jewelry.

Romper: Day to Night

Okay, so it was more like a day to late afternoon look switch. If I was going to a true day to night look I would have layered on accessories, changed my hair, and changed make up for the night look.

Day look:
Romper: Target
Cardigan: Express
Shoes: Payless
Necklace: shop in Paris, France

Night Look:
Romper: Target
Shoes: Shoe Dazzle
Necklace: shop in Paris, France

On this day I was running errands and shopping with the family. Later on we decided to go out and grab some dinner so I wanted to change the look up. By simply switching shoes, undoing my top button, and ditching the cardigan it changed the outfit into a night (or later in the day) look.

Internet problems

I'm writing this blog post from my phone. Not ideal! We are having Internet issues at my house and I'm unable to upload my posts!
I will resume posting on Monday! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week!

Downtown for a fashion show....

Top: Victoria's Secret
Blazer: Urban Outfitters
Belt: Forever 21
Jeans: Express
Shoes: Forever 21
Ring: A street vender in London
Necklace: Creatively Yours

I was super excited to be going downtown for a fashion show, but when it came time to get dressed, none of my clothes fit right! Tops are all too tight, bottoms are all too tight! I am only 10 weeks pregnant, but I am showing much quicker then I did the first time. WONDERFUL! ;)
I decided to wear my normal jeans but I totally busted out the belly band. Yes ladies, I'm already wearing a belly band! I can still button my jeans, but it hurts! Why be uncomfortable if I have an option not to be? I paired it with a loose fitting top and blazer and threw on a belt to give me some sort of shape.
I was also very excited to wear the ring I bought in England. It's one of my favorites, but I don't wear it that often because it is a little big on me and I would be devastated if I ever lost it! I guess that's one good thing about swelling, everything that used to be too big now fits you just right! haa

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Blaire Dalton. These shoes are killer!

Shoes: $25 Akira

I'm always on the look out for a good nude shoe, and this my friends, is a great nude shoe! It lengthens your leg and goes with almost any outfit! Blaire, I wish you wore size 8 so I can steal...errr...I mean borrow them! It might be better that you don't! ;)

Do you have bangs? Two items that should ALWAYS be in your purse...

Bangs are a great fall style, but they take a lot more work to look great in the summer. I never go anywhere (year round) with out my small comb and Clean and Clear's oil absorbing sheets close by! The oil absorbing sheets are great for blotting up oil or sweat from your forehead and then I brush the comb through my bang to keep it sitting right. Even if you have a side swoop longer bang, I promise this will change your world! ;)

Easter Sunday

Dress: E Street Denim
Tank: Target
Shoes: Shoe Dazzle
Necklace: Erin Gallagher Jewelry
Purse: Creatively Yours (purse party)

This was the warmest Easter we have had here in Illinois in about five years! It was a beautiful day and I decided to kick off this weather with a dress I got last summer in Lake Geneva. I love the coral color and decided to pair it with a neutral shoe and purse to make the necklace color choice pop! This is one of my favorite necklaces! It is real turquoise and stands out no matter what outfit you pair it with!

This weeks "I want what she has!"

This weeks "I want what she has!" goes to Kristen Javens. This jacket is amazing!

Coat:$34 Target

Not only is this jacket a steal at $34, but it is also a wardrobe must have! If you don't own a long trench coat, get a short one! A short coat is just as versatile and with the cinched waist you just can't go wrong! Good find Kristen!

Yoga Class

My husband and I joined a stress management yoga class at the park district a few weeks ago. It is amazing! We do get into some pose work and stretching, but mostly it focuses on breathing techniques and meditation.
When I say breathing techniques I mean breathing so deeply and sometimes fast you feel like you might pass out followed by a body and head buzz! It's crazy and outstanding at the same time! I can't even explain to you how relaxing that hour is (and all hours following the class)! I think it is very important for everyone to find an outlet that works for them to reduce the stresses of everyday life! Let's be honest, too much stress can age you quickly (not to mention cause serious health problems) and no one needs that!
