Remix: Tribal Print Maxi Dress

I bought this 100% silk maxi dress at Rad & Refined back in 2012. It is still one of my top five favorite maxi dresses that I own. I think I love how it feels against my skin (I mean, who doesn't love silk?), the slits on both sides, and the way it flows as I walk and when a gust of wind hits the material. It really is a sexy dress without being tight or short.

 When looking back at the ways I have styled it, I realized I don't mix it up too much. I am clearly wearing different shoes each time (all nude or brown...so really not that different), and I add a pop of color whether it be in the jewelry, bag, or jacket, but over all the styling has been pretty similar.

Here are three ways I have worn my tribal maxi dress over the past two years:

I think I need to layer over it next time to really give it a different look. Maybe a loose cable knit or a vest...we shall see.

Hold me Closer Tiny Dancer...

I am such a fan of updated 70's fashion. I like to classify the way I styled this boho look as boho chic. I feel like if you are adding great jewelry and 6 inch heels, it just makes it more dressy or chic (for a lack of a better word).

I decided to pair these great wide leg pants with a crop top, fringe bag, and maroon colored hat. To finish the look off I added great gold jewelry and a super high heel.

This look was perfect for meeting up with my sister-in-law for a sushi dinner date. Honestly, this outfit just made me feel like dancing. The wide let pants are super breezy and the crop top made the look feel perfect for summer.

Outfit: Chambray Dress is Best!

 What's not to love about a drop-waist chambray dress? I found this beauty last year and, to be honest, forgot about it. Don't you hate when you loose a great item in your closet?!  Finding this was a beginning of a big closet cleaning. I feel like you should always know what's in your wardrobe, I clearly had too many items in my closet! 

I was at the lake house so I kept the styling beyond simple. I only added a watch, sandals, and this adorable anchor print bag. I'm pretty sure it doesn't get easier style wise then this.

After-School Pizza Party

You've made it through the first week of school, treat your kids and yourself with a homemade pizza party! Whether for a play date or bonding time, making pizza with fun toppings like Hormel Pepperoni, sausage crumbles or Hormel Cure 81 Cubed Ham is sure to put a smile on every one's face.

I found these great gluten free frozen pizza crusts (they come in packs of two) and it's been making our lives even easier!

Here is what you'll need:
-Crust
-Pizza sauce
-Cheese (we used organic mozzarella
-toppings of choice (Hormel has some great ones to choose from)

Directions:
-Follow the crust direction for oven temperature and times.
-If using Cure 81 ham, pre-cook on stove top.

My kids loved helping with this one too! My daughter said she just wanted cheese, but my son was all about adding Hormel pepperoni and Hormel Cure 81 Ham.

Rehearsal Dinner Style

My dad got married last weekend and this is what I wore to the rehearsal and dinner. He got married at The Abbey Resort in Wisconsin and it was an outdoor wedding under a gazebo. The weather was warm with a nice lake breeze and this was a perfect look for watching my kids practice walking (as flower girl and ring barrier) and practicing my reading as well.

This silk maxi dress is one of my all time favorites so I was very excited to wear it to a very special event. I tried to keep the styling very simple by adding a brown belt, nude shoe, and denim jacket.

Toddler Fashion: Music Sharp Outfit

How amazing is this outfit? I am loving this rock tee on my son. He was so excited when he saw this outfit, he was even more excited when he saw the faux leather jacket that was styled with it on the site (more on that jacket next week). Yes, we are getting the jacket too! 

This look is perfect for everyday wear, back-to-school, or a night at one of daddy's rock concerts.

Skee-Ball & Flash Tattoos

 OK, lets talk about three things here. 1) Skee-ball: best game ever! 2) Flash tattoos: They make great rings. Espically midi rings! I am obsessed with wearing them this way. 3) Great basics are a must have wardrobe staple! 

This white cotton blouse is my all time favorite. I seriously want to buy like three more so I always have it. I feel the same way about these shorts. I actually have them in black too because I love the fit and style so much.

For a night of bowling, arcade games, and celebrating my sister's birthday, this casual look was just the thing. To finish my look off I added cute flats and simple silver jewelry.

Floral Print & Pockets...These are a Few of my Favorite Things

Meet my latest obsession, a dress I found in the juniors section at Kohls! It not only has a great floral print that will take me from summer to fall, pockets which I love in any item of clothing, but it also laces up in the back so you can make it more form fitting if you'd like. I love that in a dress!

I styled it for a family party with silver jewelry, a silver flash tattoo, and super cute flat sandals. I can't wait to wear it again and next time with boots for fall!

I realize that I am 35 years old and maybe the juniors section isn't the best place for me to shop. As I see it, it's kind of like stopping in at Forever 21. There are always a few items that can be a great addition to anyone in any age groups wardrobe.

Outfit: Breakfast Chat

Last weekend I headed downtown to Silversmith Hotel in Chicago. I was graciously invited by Janet Mandell of Fashionaholic and Mia Bossi, to a breakfast chat with special guest Jacey Duprie of  Damsel in Dior. 

I decided to go with a striped pencil skirt, black blouse, and amazing jeweled heels. I played off the silver in the shoes by adding all silver and black jewelry.

The set up for this breakfast was so beautiful! We started off with some mimosas and had a chance to say hello to all our blogger friends who were in attendance. There were also mini set ups by T&J Designs, Mia Bossi, Leah Chavie Skincare Boutique, and a little area with flash tattoos too.
I mean, the only thing better then breakfast with a great group of women is adding mini shopping areas to the mix! 

The breakfast was super yummy, seriously the food at the restaurant in the Silversmith hotel was outstanding!

 During the first course Janet asked Jacey questions and she gave us advice on social media and blogging. We were also able to ask her any questions we had as well. It was so helpful and fun to be part of this breakfast chat.
