Recipe: Chicken Bone Broth

Last week I showed you a recipe for a whole chicken. I used to just throw my bones away, but now I toss them in a gallon bag and stick them in the freezer until I make my broth. Let me start by saying this is all new to me. I am no pro! My son's biomedical doctor talked about how nutrient rich the bone broth is and that I should not only make it for soups, but also use it to season other dishes.
Here is how I made my fist batch of broth. There is seriously no wrong way to do it. You can use whatever seasonings and vegetables you have in your home.
I put a big pot on the stove over mid-low heat for 10 hours.

Here is what I added to the water:

Chicken Bones
Organic Green & Red Peppers
Organic Celery
Organic Carrots
Sea salt
Turmeric
Garlic
Black PepperPhotobucket
I froze my broth in different size containers. I even put some in an ice try to season individual meals! This way I can make soup or just add my broth to what ever dish I'd like. I have starting making this bi-weekly. It is so good! I will never go back to store bought stock/broth again.
