Festival Wear All Week Long

When it comes to festival wear, I really have tons of it. I love attending live music festivals and honestly, I don't see why you can't dress like this daily. Since I live in the Chicago land area and lollapalooza is this weekend, I felt the need to break out some fun outfits this week. I may not be attending this year, but I will be watching the live stream when I'm home!

When I saw this jumpsuit I knew I wanted it right away. It's so unique and kind of gaudy (which I love) plus it reminded me of overalls and then I found the pockets. SOLD! To keep the jumpsuit perfect for very hot weather, I added a strappy bra, flat sandals, and easy jewelry. To finish the look off I wore my hair in a set of fat braids. When it came to choosing a bag, I went with a small sized phone fringe bag. This is perfect if you just want to carry a phone, ID, and cash. In the end this look was perfect for being outside all day.

Designer Sunglasses for less!

 photo bohostyle_zpsneh3kteq.jpg photo IMG_4118_zpssarkrtha.jpg photo IMG_4127_zpsnnfgtm9i.jpg

You guys all know by now that I am obsessed with sunglasses. They are a great way to not only use functionally (glare in both the summer and winter months), but also as a fashion accessory.
As a stay-at-home mother of two, buying pair after pair of designer frames just isn't in the budget. However having more then one great quality pair to style just feels like the right thing to do. ;)
Well, thanks to Ditto I can now wear lots of name brand designer frames at a fraction of the  cost!

Ditto is an online site that allows you to become a member for only $19 per month! You can choose from brands like Ray Ban, Karen Walker, Elizabeth & James, and many more. In honor of Lollapalooza being this weekend (I'm sadly not able to attend this year), I've decided the rest of the week I will post outfits that are totally festival ready. This dress is for sure one of my new favorites. Boho and breezy plus when paired with these Karen Walker sunglasses and a crop boot, this look is a great balance between age appropriate and vintage inspired.

I've Never Met a Tropical Print I didn't Love...

 photo IMG_4108_zpswppygxd2.jpg photo IMG_4098_zpssoxzoept.jpg photo IMG_4104_zpsojfm7l83.jpg
How adorable is this romper? I am obsessed with the leaf print and was literally jumping when I found it in my latest swap bag from Kaitlyn. I've never seen her in it, so I didn't know she even owned this beauty. I have seen it on a few other bloggers, so I was pumped to style it on this beautiful summer day. The best part? It's currently on sale in 3 colors for less then $15. Score!

 photo IMG_4110_zpsamjt1yxm.jpg photo IMG_4100_zps48z0ocui.jpg
It was 85 and sunny this day, so a tropical print romper was the best option. During the day I wore it with flat sandals and my hair in a pony tail. Later that night we decided to go out for dinner so I took the styling up a notch.
By adding nude strappy heels, lots of silver jewelry, a pop of color in my bag, and a top knot, this look was ready for a night out. I added a bright lip and my favorite denim jacket to take this look from day-time casual to night-out chic.

Jacket: Pepe Jeans // Romper: Old Navy (Swap w/ Kaitlyn) // Shoes: JustFab // Bag: Nordstrom // Sunglasses: ZeroUV // Necklace, Earrings, & Ring: Rocksbox (use code sadbblogxoxo to get your 1st month FREE!) // Triple Ring: T+J Designs // Watch: Movado

In the end, I love how this romper worked for all day styling. Those are always my favorite wardrobe pieces. Ones that can go from mommy day-time to a night out just by changing the styling and/or layers.

What do you think of this romper? Do you like how I styled it?

Something to Celebrate

 photo 20150702_175313_zpsoikfrlrs.jpg photo 20150702_175327_zpszjpfo6u6.jpg

My husband recently switched careers. It was a long process to get into his new company, but after lots of hard work he was offered the job. This means lots of changes for our family, but in the end the payoff is well worth all the adjustments! We obviously needed to go out and celebrate and did so in a way we never have before. Go big or go home, right?
We have both lived in Illinois all our lives, but neither of us had ever been on The Odyssey II. Sounds like a great night out to me, let's do this!

I can only explain this night like attending a wedding reception while you are on a gorgeous boat. Just add exceptional views, minus the speeches and time delays, but with all the fun, dancing, and amazing food. We had a blast! The food could not have been any better. Spending time of the rooftop deck was a blast, and dancing the night away while watching the sun set was one perfect way to celebrate! What a treat for us this night was!

My handsome hubby rocked an everyday work look but mixed it up a bit. By adding more relaxed shoes, a knit cardigan, & a wooden watch, this look went from day at the office to night out on the lake.

Did I mention the views? I mean...

I couldn't be more proud of you Ryan! Here's to many more milestones  and celebrations together!

Retro Glam Meets Festival Wear

 photo IMG_4007_zpskuxwnipx.jpg photo IMG_4014_zpsyf4uw6lz.jpg   photo IMG_4033_zpsdxr3ncm5.jpg

Have you ever taken two completely different styles and tried combining them? I think some of the best outfits happen that way. I love mixing and matching pieces that at first glance, you wouldn't think to pair them together. Take this jumpsuit for instance, it would be perfect with gladiator flats and a hat; festival wear at it's finest. By tweaking the styling a bit, I went for a different take on this look.

 photo IMG_4031_zps2ddjilyh.jpg photo IMG_4009_zpsj9ifjtyy.jpg
 photo IMG_4017_zpsa5kmq5tq.jpg

By adding a deep side part + waves in my hair and adding these (uh-mazing) cat-eye sunglasses, this look just got real retro glam. Classic red lip & strappy heels complete this jumpsuits makeover merging two styles effortlessly. Don't forget to add layers of delicate jewelry and a pop of color in your bag and/or nails. I opted for both!

Current Obsessions: Summer Edition

This summer weather has been all over the place so being tan in July is not a given anymore here in the Midwest. Throw in the fact that I've had 12 skin biopsies now, and sunblock + tanning towelettes have become my best friends. Here are a few of my favorite summer items:

Kate Somerville 360 Tanning Towelettes:
When it comes to tanning, these towelettes take the cake! I use one body and one face per week and I'm not sure I could ever go back to the drugstore sprays and towelettes I use to use. They do not make you orange, just a great tan color and the streaking really is minimal if any (which is so key!). To be honest I only had streaks once on my feet, but that was after my first use and now I know what I'm doing.

Bathing suit: I've gotten so many questions about this suit over on my Instagram, I had to tell you all about it. This one-piece is hands-down my favorite this year. It is reversible. Yes, two suits for the price of one! The straps in the back hold everything in place and it's just so unique, what's not to love? The back is a bit "cheeky" (pun intended) but it just gives the suit more personality.
Also, I'm wearing the tanning towelettes from above int he below photos. See, it's a nice bronze color, no?

Sunblock: As I've previously written about, I love Sunology. I not only use the two products below, but I also use the one they have for kids. Great product and a great price. A little goes a long way and I use these daily.

Hats! No summer would be complete without a great hat...or ten! I have about ten in my current collection that range from fedora to floppy. All are great and all are a must not only for fashion, but for sun protection.

Here are a few I'm currently loving:

What are you currently obsessed with? Any summer must haves that I should know about?

Erykah Badu #mywinningstory

Thanks to the Illinois Lottery, I was given two VIP tickets to see Erykah Badu at the Taste of Chicago. If you follow my social media, you may have seen a few photos pop up on Thursday and Friday about this night. And, oh what a night it was!

The Illinois Lottery has an "Anythings Possible" series where winners are asked to submit their winning stories. Head over to the website and check what all the winners have to say! And don't forget to tag #IllinoisLottery and #mywinningstory to be featured on the websites rolling photo gallery!

So here is my winning story:
I invited a fellow mommy friend, and we headed downtown in our "black SUV" Uber. I mean, a night in style deserves traveling in style, no?
As soon as we arrived, we were excited to find that our seats were literally right next to the stage! There was a tent with when you first walked in with tables, southwest dinner food (buffet style), refreshments, and passed light bits. Once outside the tent there were more tables set up as a lounge area, complete with citronella candles to keep the bugs away. The last area was right next to the rail. There were seats for all of us as well as standing room very close if you wanted to go up! Here are some photos from my night:
Link:

I mean, look how close we are! Myself and Lindsay took full advantage of the VIP view and rocked out to the opening band. It's never too early to dance, is it? We even watched Ms. Badu walk from her car to the stage right in front of us. What a fun experience this night was!

By the time Erykah stated playing the crowd was full of energy and ready to dance and sing. She came out with feathers around her neck, ready to put on a heck of a show. And how could you not, look how many camera's (including mine) were on her (check out the second photo below)! That has to be so much more pressure then just preforming. This is all being documented , her every move, every note she sang, but she seemed unfazed and sung her heart out. It was one great performance!

Have you ever won the Illinois Lottery (or any lottery at that)? Submit your winning story or let's chat in my comments section below!
